Show Us Your Motors!

That's the plan. Only mods to the Corolla will be wheels. Because the standard ones look lost.

I'm struggling to find some which suit it though. I want it to look OEM+ not ricey.

because non oem wheels = rice cmon acme, you know better.
Don't think he actually said that at all, just that he wants to find an aftermarket (or possibly wheels from another Toyota) that look like they would have been an optional extra, rather than some ripspeed bling ;)

no but he implied that anything that doesn't look oem is ricey :) wheels that suit the car suit the car, doesn't matter of they look custom or not.

I didn't mean to imply that! The wheels I am looking at are very much aftermarket. :)

I was looking at Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's or OZ Superleggera's in a silverish colour, but I'm starting to think that even they might look a bit much...

Considering leaving the standard wheels and putting on some hubcentric spacers, 10MM front 30MM rear, but that would cost almost as much as a set of wheels because I'm not going to use eBay special spacers... :p

Other option is genuine Corolla Compressor alloys, but they are like hens teeth... Annoying because I used to have a set... And even then they would still need a small amount of spacing to make them look how I want.

Speedline Turinis in 17 or 18 inch fitment? No idea if they make a suitable fitment but I think they'd achieve the oem+ vibe you want.

That car actually looks.....really nice

Let's be hoping it is actually built like a Toyota

Just use your crappy budget tyres until winter then change them and sell on. Do not mess around with this car, take the piggyback ECU and either chuck it or flog it. Induction isn't going to do any real harm if you like the noise.

Above all, do not spend a penny on the ting until you have had it a few months, no matter how much you want to stick stuff on it. Wheels included

Cheers all. And thanks for the recommendation for the Turini's, they look the part.

e; Ahh they are a grand new, and all the used ones are frenchie fitment. :(

Well its more logical than blind-purchasing a 12 previous owner, 25 year old modified Eunos with scene kid wheels which has been slammed into the floor and has a few weeks MOT left, and then expecting it to end well.
At least you're learning :p

Nothing wrong with TD Pro Race 1.2s. Not what I'd call a ricey looking wheel. They're a proper lightweight motorsport wheel

+1. I have 1.2s on mine and they're a good wheel to be fair. If you can pick some up second hand it would be worth it if they're in good nick.

A nice little £1k runaround that I found locally.

Another thought I had, my main issue with the standard wheels is how set into the arches they are. On the rear there is about 3CM between the arch lip and the sidewall of the tyre.

Is there anything wrong with using hubcentric wheel spacers from a decent manufacturer to sort that out? I've never liked the idea of them, but the likes of @Gibbo has them on his Mustang etc so they can't be all bad.

And then these on the front...

Here's a Corolla XRS (America's answer to the T-Sport) with 25MM spacers before/after:
