Why does that matter? The S2 is still a fine car to chuck down a back road, it is the one with the Van engine which you don't want.

Back then they were priced accordingly. 5-6 grand for a S2 seemed a fair deal. Now they are the same price as a 996 Carrera 2. A MK2 MR2 which costs about the 10th of the price and is from a similar generation has more to offer and still has pop up lamps.

Viewed this today, picking it up on Saturday. :)

76,000 miles
10 months MOT with great MOT history
Engine runs as sweet as a nut, sounds much happier than my old one did
Cam cover gasket isn't leaking, nor is the cam chain cover seal thingy (practically unheard of...)
Bodywork is excellent, as is the paintwork
Freshly refurbed alloys
Very little rust at all, only surface rust on thick steel suspension arms and such
Absolutely no issues of note, no funny noises or vibrations etc, all electronics work flawlessly
New clutch
New disks and pads all round
Has (original?) Toyota windscreen, so auto wipers still work a treat
DET3 ECU piggyback & K&N Typhoon included (not fitted, guy has two other corollas)
25MM lowering springs which make a massive difference to how it looks and handles (though the offset looks ridiculous now, need to fix that... lol)
T-Sport Compressor strut brace (proper brace not a damped one like the normal T-Sport brace)

Only issues are that it preferably wants a pair of new tyres, just because they are budget ones (but still have good tread), a few bits of interior trim need new clips, and the headlights are starting to go a bit cloudy. Thats it!

Really didn't want to stuff this purchase up... The seller even commented on how thorough I was being with my checks, just as I was taking the spare wheel out to check the boot floor for signs of buckling/past repair... :p

Only bit of spec it is missing vs my old one are the rear parking sensors. I did quite like having those, but never mind.

Looking forward to it, though not just for the car itself, also because it will give me the opportunity to take the E30 off of the road for a bit and give it some needed love and attention. :)

It actually seems like you've bought a decent example. I hope! MOT history looks excellent. I presume the lowering springs are as a result of its failure in March. Tyres and headlights are easily fixed.

As said, parking sensors are dead easy to retrofit. I fitted cheap eBay kits to a couple of my previous cars with no issues.

Taa guys. BMW does need to go off for rot to be sorted yeah. Going to try and do a few little bits myself first though.
