Show Us Your Motors!

It cost around a grand.

Downpipe with cat: £460 (de-cat about £200)
Panel filter: £30
Stage 2 map: £500
TCU map: £250

That is what you need for stage 2, 0-60 in sub 3.5s best time ever recorded was 3.09s I believe at Santa pod, quarter mile around 11.5@123mph

For about a grand I feel its great value for massive performance that is reliable. Well I've certainly never had value for money like it before in modding, gains over stock are like 80HP and around 100lb/ft plus.

You can go further, intercooler, hybrid turbo etc. If I was keeping I'd put the intercooler on and had gone de-cat, but for re-sale purposes felt a car with a cat is easier to sell on, should not of bother in hindsight as got a couple of guys at work who want to buy it after being out in it.

People don't believe a 20k Golf can offer near stock GTR performance but without all the silly running cost and in a car that does not get a blink of attention which a lot of people like, I don't mind turning heads, but many just like to go fast without being noticed which Golf is king at because its well a Golf and very quiet.

@Regy53 Is it Alien Green? As it looks really light and 'minty'
Yeah Alien green

Owning the Golf R turbo charged engines that hit hard are a bloody nightmare to balance mid corner. Your track driving, NA or supercharged is far better. Only the very latest turbo charged stuff is acceptable which Porsche are the only ones to really pull it off so far, I was very impressed with the 991.2's I drove on track which had upto 420HP, as you could balance them mid corner on boost as power delivery was very linear and NA like. Not experienced a turbocharged like that before. Well I have the cars that have turbo's so small you can hardly see them haha. :D

Its the reason i wanted to keep the nasp experience, the m5 is the same mid corner the power can come on so strong it makes it difficult.

Nasp driving experience is hard to beat on track its just a shame they lack power in modern day hot hatches (not big american v8's)

Everytime Gibbo posts some crap about the Golf the next 4 pages become walls of text. "Show us your motors", not "Show us your hyperbole then try and defend it".

Have a bad picture of my heap, in bad weather.

My last Ring trip....bit wet.

Ver' nice. Will you give each other a go of your cars? Would be nice to compare and contrast these motors.

Not on the Ring no, but on the road sure. The Ring just offers too much risk for it to go wrong through no fault of your own, so having someone else behind the wheel when it goes wrong is just added stress really. Having said that I have driven other peoples cars on other tracks, just not the Ring.
