Show Us Your Motors!

My M5 lasted a month i should have known. Traded in for this and I am totally in love, this is the car that ticks every box apart from no dab which i will just get a Bluetooth ami adapter.

Audi R8 V10 Plus 550, carbon bits and pieces, ceramic brakes, 25k miles :)

I dont know how to explain it, its the later DCT Stronic box which blows the bmw boxes I have owned to bits the engine, gearbox, looks, package, engine under glass, noise and experience is just unbelievable

The grip it offers, the turn in is special

This is a 63 reg and is like the facelift gen 1 car, for whatever reason they had no option of DAB or Bluetooth stream on these cars and the nav is a old system and dated. Its not a deal breaker as its not the sort of thing you buy the car for, however after worrying pre purchase i need-ant have its not that bad at all

Present R8

So you had an M5, hated it and got rid of it, then got another, bought a thousand quid carbon diffuser for it but then decided you still hated it like the last one you had so instead traded it for an R8? Blimey :p

something like that, i didnt hate it the comp pack car with the ceramic brakes really changed the standard m5 drive it was lovely.

A friend borrowed my Smax last week to tow something about and left me his c63 amg a 09 plate. The noise was lovely and it make me look at cars again.

TBH I have a range rover and should have always bought a more direct car than the m5 but i find the m3's come with a young lad boy racer stigma plus i dont like the inside

FYI i paid £400 for the diffuser and sold it today for £500 :) he collected it from me at the Audi dealer

The BMW is /was great but make no mistake traction is a big problem and if you let your mrs drive it who does not know much about cars and how to handle them its a dangerous beast. I paid £1300 insurance for the m5 for a year (business use too) the R8 with a 30-40k higher value was £650

She doesn't drive yet test booked for march however we have a Smax for her.

All i was getting at with the m5 comment is it could catch a lot of people out.

@DAIR, how is it? Unreal I never even test drove this car and had never driven a R8 in my life, as soon as we got away from the dealership me and my friend were messing around with buttons and it downchanged on its own made a right racket. I said what the hell was that. He suggested going down the box, so i did and also left a gap between me and the car ahead and boy as soon as i booted it, she gripped, went and sounded tremendous. I looked at my friend and said Wow this is the car.

It really is a event , amazing car

If she doesn’t drive, why does she have a Smax?
eddied the post sorry it posted early

She has her test booked in March and the Smax is the family car, we have 20 month twins and a 12 year old so its the ideal car for that kind of make a mess thingy kids do

I give it 6 months before you change again :D

Great car, done 21K miles in mine since I bought it with 3K on the clock. Play yourself into it and it will look after you, I have not come across anything quicker A to B including McLaren's, Ferrari's, 991 RS's, GTR's etc, it is so quick and really makes you look a hero. Brakes are out of this world good too, but think I may have borked mine at Donington....waiting to see. Seek out Ricky at RE Performance, tell him Housey sent you if you want to begin modding the car.

I can only echo that for the day I have had mine and understanding the brakes

Traction is just silly, if you have come from other cars specifically turbo and or rwd this is unbelievable, The new F90 M5 will be a great tool too i think with its 4wd

It just doenst really spin unless you prompt it, lanes are ok its very agile but it takes some getting used to even just the seating position needs that seat time as its not usual the windscreen is very sloped too it adds to the experience

Really interested in the Evora. Cracking colour, too.

What do you want to know? Its an Evora 400, 2+2, Metallic Orange, Alcantara Interior Trim Pack, Alcantara steering wheel, Black Pack (roof, sills, chin spoiler, wheels), Cruise Control, Subwoofer and Cupholder.
Was going to order one new from the factory, but managed to pick this one up in very close to my perfect spec (it has the alcantara interior and I would PROBABLY have gone leather, and the sub and cupholder I wouldn't have bothered with) for a good £9k less than a factory order would have cost.

Had an Elise for almost 10 years now, but had very little use for various reasons over the last 3 or 4 years. Also now have my dads V12 Vantage S after he passed away.

Plan is to use the Evora as my main car (other than work), get the Elise on some track days and use the Vantage for a few some trips and events.

What do you want to know?

Nothing in particular, what I meant is, it's exactly the kind of car that would interest me. A good blend of light, simple and fun, but a little more practical for regular use than an Elise. Out of my price range though. Sounds like you have quite the garage there :)

They aren't really THAT light, about 1400kg for the 400, so almost double the weight of the Elise. The Evora GT430 Sport comes in under 1300kg for a 2+2, but would cost another £40k!
I've wanted an Evora since I first drove an S in 2011 though and had the opportunity, so why not. We've got a child on the way and a small dog, so kidding myself that once they're old enough for a forward facing seat we can do (short) trips out in it with the family which aren't possible with the Elise or Vantage.

Really more sensible for the use would be something like a Maserati GranTurismo, but I don't believe they ever offered it as a manual which was a must for me. Considered a Ferrari 456GT M before realising 2 V12's - and one of them over 20 years old - would probably give me some marital issues.

Been helping run a Lotus owners club for a number of years too, so that made the Evora the obvious choice for a not at all practical or sensible, sensible practical car.
