The problem with the term 'daily beater' is the 'beater' element, which implies a car over which no sympathy is given and is abused to within an inch of it's life. By which I mean: there's minimal mechanical sympathy, it's never washed, services missed, damage goes un-repaired, etc etc. This probably applies to around 5% of the cars you see on the road every day. Is that how you intend to treat your Audi? If so then it's an appropriate term.

Not a fan of the paint choice (or engine :D), but i do like the G30. Lovely looking car all round, especially internally.

Is this a F10.5 or something? Normally each generation of 5 series has a very distinct change but this one looks awfully similar to the outgoing model?
The visual changes are subtle, most German manufacturers tweak the external design - evolution over revolution. I think the E60 broke from tradition - the F10 looks more an evolution of the the E39.

- The G30 5 Series is larger, yet lighter than the F10 5 Series
- The G30 has a re-styled/improved interior with more technology as standard and some more tech in the options list

No its totally new, and if you look at them side by side they are indeed very similar but they are different.

The differences between E39 > E60 > F10 were far more apparent... I think BMW have peaked with their design and are struggling to make them look more modern now. :p

If you remove the E60 from that lineup then it is an obvious nice progression through the ages between the E39>F10>G30. The E60 broke the mold.
