GitThey never think they aren't? So they always think they are? Wot?
Lovely 911, none whale tail versions just look better (read: awesome) in my opinion.
Congrats for achieving the life ambition of owning such an awesome motor.
@Axeboy you still have the Alto?
@Marvin Shame to see it go.
What is it with people moving from V8 E39's to little Lotus'?
If you get one, at least make it a 111R or Exige for maximum BWAAAAAH
I thought you refused to try and fit in the Elise at the meet? You're buying one?!I looked at Elises and VX220s before I bought the E39. It's a daily car so decided that it needed to be the more comfortable, practical option. Now I won't need to commute daily by car much longer I could finally buy the car I've wanted since I played Gran Turismo 4 (yeah - most people went for Skylines, I had an Elise). Plus I've wanted to do track days and hopefully sprints and the like for a while, not a role the M5 fits too well. As for the model, I haven't fully decided on an S2, but I think I prefer the overall S2 package. It'll be a K series either way and either a standard one or maybe a 111S or 135R - I can't afford much more than that. However, they're very tunable, which is just one aspect I really like, so I can always add more power later. Even a stock Elise is pretty quick as it weighs 800kg.
As Phil (dalto) can testify, I do just about fit in an S1. It's not graceful. I've previously driven a VX220 which was easier (and an S2 is marginally easier than that as it has narrower sills). I just wasn't keen on trying to figure it out in front of 10 people wielding cameras/phones .
