I'm a peasant and have 4 cars. Lucky for me my house was built in 1970 which means the road outside my house is not 10cm wide and my front garden is not a strip of tooth floss! Constantly looking at convertibles and the S2000 fits the bill but the problem is the prices on them are going absolutely crazy that the 986 Boxster S and SLK 32 AMG are looking more tempting!
Nice rear badges : ASTRA - TURBO !!!!!Gtc did not last long. Just not practical so traded it in for this. Engine in this one works like a charm so far... lol.. New plates on order as they are wonky....

The newest Astra isn't that bad and usually a lot cheaper than the alternatives. Buying 3 in quick succession is a bit mental though.
Is it even possible to buy a current Astra without a TURBO?
I don't understand the Turbo badging on Vauxhalls. It isn't 1980, it's not a rarity or a surprise for a car to have a turbo these days.
I must say I think that looks a rather handsome car though. As much as I'm not a massive Vauxhall fan I think they have aced the design on some of the new models. Much better than the outgoing ones, and in a different league to the ones before that.
It’s all marketing I imagine someone decided that “Turbo” badges sell cars as lots of manufacturers are doing it now.
Only Vauxhall seem to be doing this.

tbf the new insignia looks ok, why not go for one of them ?
I have seen a few others with turbo badges or “T” or something similar. Vauxhall are by far the worst and mention it on every car with a turbo.

I guess there are a lot of cars around now that have a turbo so advertising the fact seems pretty pointless. Whenever I see it on cars (as you mentioned on a lot of Vaxuhall's) it reminds me of something from the 80's or 90's where the turbo was relatively uncommon - The Astra turbo.I have seen a few others with turbo badges or “T” or something similar. Like bmw who still put an 'i' on the end of their badges? At least with Audi it is free to have them debadged...True story
At least they're not like Audi who still include the fact that the engines have electronic fuel injection in their badging!
