Here's my '97 Astra. I'm 17 so it's my first car, paid £350 for it. It's now got 132k on the clock with full service history. It's a 1.6 8v, runs like a dream, I do about 200-300 miles a week in it. Only mods so far are fairly subtle, 16" alloys, lowered 40mm, GSi rear lights and rear spoiler.
I've done a lot of electrical mods, some small things like illuminated sun visors, and bigger things like a trip computer and cruise control.

Not at all! It passed MOT (just needed a pair of rear brake flex hoses). There's barely a spot of rust on it either. I've done about 5k miles in the past 3 months since I passed my test and it's never missed a beat so can't complain at all really!
Those Meganes are are growing on me now

Not done an aweful lot to it, apart from an msd coil pack and roose motor sport boost hoses. I have a set of heater matrix amd breather filter hoses to go on hopefully this year. Power mods will be coming next year

The interior is 11 years old. And at the time, better than its rivals.
french, yes. german, no.
any VAG interior from 1998 is better than the focus.
perhaps not style-wise, but certainly more solid and with higher quality materials

Very nice.
I'm looking at second car options and the Puma is top of the list so far. How would you rate it so far?
Is there better ways to spend £3k?
