Ah right, I'm not used to dealing with spacers which aren't 15MM+ , those generally have their own new centre hub lip.

Is it actually unsafe to run a car with the wheels bolted on but not located on the hub lip? I didn't think it was. I thought it was mainly just to help locate the wheel until the bolts are torqued up. Hence adapter spigot rings generally just being made of plastic.

No idea really but it is not something I wish to try especially in a car that I drive to and beyond the limits pretty much every time I drive it. :)

Nope I mean 3mm, the hub lip on the S2000 is very small, it is about 5-6mm, so a 5mm spacer means the wheel no longer centres on the hub. And the only larger spacers for S2000 seem to be like 20mm plus which would be too much and are adding weight. I will have another shop around but I don't think basic 10-12mm hubcentric spacers with longer bolts exist for S2000 but I probably did not look very hard as I am not overly keen on adding large spacers and at the moment the negative camber will be out of spec so once alignment is done the wheels will sit better anyway, less negative camber.

Oh wow. I didn't think you could get spacers that small, I wouldn't have thought you could even see much of a difference?

And yeah, I wouldn't use spacers that aren't hub-centric. AFAIK its the hub ring which is putting the weight of the car on the wheel, with the studs designed to keep the wheel clamped to the hub, rather than supporting shear forces.

Your car is stunning, the carbon lip is not to my taste, it looks better painted for sure, but I'd probably just skip it all together, but I have gone very much for an OEM+ look on mine, as probably wont make any more changes to mine now looks wise now its lowered, mine could do with being spaced out more as I only have 3mm spacers as any bigger would be unsafe and the bigger ones add weight. My only future plans now are a remap and maybe a shorter final drive ratio but the remap with VTEC around 4000rpm will hopefully be enough. :)

thank you! Yes I think painted works better, my longer term plan is to go aftermarket, I quite the ASM front bumper or VOLTEX.

I need to get the front bumper resprayed, washers removed(I really dislike them) and license plate holes filled.

Maybe I'll go back to the facelift oem lip + splitter combo that I ran originally.

My wheels are all et47+ so around 10-15mm wider track than OEM, with the big brakes up front the car needs 15mm spacer on the front alone to run the stock facelift 17s. I would like to lower vtec point too, 4500ish sounds like a sweet spot.

Personally I think it looks best without - but yes, that looks much better.

I think it's one of those things that looks weird at some angles and okay at others.. the plain/gel coat carbon is interesting too, I like how it "pops" in the sun but on a dull day like the above it looks kinda cheap and stands out.

Haha! I genuinely think it looks better in person. Of course each to their own, it may be too aggressive to work with the rest of the car... Aka no wing, skirts etc

I think on its own it looks worse because it looks a bit out of place... Aggy the rest of it up and hurt some feelings. ;)

I too am unconvinced about the carbon lip. For me, the thing that looks worst about it is that it doesn't appear to fit properly...looks like it protrudes about a centimeter or so past the back edge of the bumper.

I’m in agreement, it’s a transition look. I’m very interested to see how it will look down the line.

While it looks a bit botox at the moment, you have one of the best looking “forum owner” cars here.

Both yours and Gibbo’s S2K make me browse Autotrader for a while, looking to buy a nice one I cannot afford.

that's how it is designed funny enough, I didn't realize how much it would stick out and now that it is on the car that's the main thing that bothers me about it! :)

OEM honda might have a bit of a better fit(they're £1500 or so to buy if you can find one in US or Japan) but it stills sticks out, it wraps around the bumper hence the "extra"

thank you!

it probably wont transition to this look, this lip purchase was a mess to say the least! I ordered a carbon one, then swapped to fibreglass(due to their errors/issues producing a carbon one) then received a carbon lip from them and a big refund in price difference.

a mess that took 3+ months! :) the lip was/is very much an experiment, by the looks of it on google etc, other cars that run this really pull it off with sideskirts, big wing etc

and I currently have no plans to drill holes in the boot or sills!

will probably end up getting an amuse R1 front bumper which has the aggressive look but not as aggressive as the above.

if anyone wants to see honda OEM it's the "honda s2000 CR" only sold in US/Japan in limited numbers.

Took the S2000 for a good drive at weekend, sorry about lack of scenic photos as was having too much fun driving, but when is empty over half a tank it was time to fill up and grab a couple of photos:

Car probably won’t change much now looks wise, wheels fill the arch ok could be a bit better but sorting alignment will aid that somewhat as suspect rear camber is now somewhere between -2 to -2.5 negative and front over -1 so nothing to extreme but maybe a bit much for road driving and of course the toe settings will be out.

However it handles amazingly well, the Ohlins really give huge confidence to drive the car on the limits and beyond, it’s very progressive in break away and seems easy to manage.

After driving various roads 10 clicks from firm all round it was indeed a bit too firm, the Mrs had a few moans also lol.

Settled on 12 clicks now which seems a happy medium and other half is happier too, in her words it’s firmer but rides better.

Love driving the wheels of this car, think that is the main enjoyment of this car is you can absolutely drive the wheels of it without being double the speed limit and it’s huge fun.

Next stop is get a custom map for the car and lower VTEC to see how it feels but I don’t intend on changing much else on the car now, just keep enjoying it. :)

@Gibbo s2k looks great! I see what you mean about the offset on the wheels, I think et50+ all-around is spot on..

the stock wheels are like et65+ or something so you can get away with 15mm spacers, those will be properly mounted. I run 25mm on the rear and 20mm on the front on the crown and have had no issues and it's a heavy car driven hard.

On track at Donington, weather held off but lots of traffic. Too many cars for the circuit I think, only managed 3/4 clean laps the whole day.

Also got a monster stone chip in the first session (having got a new windscreen 3 weeks ago!)

Which track organiser was it? Javelin?

MSV. Must have been 20-30 in each session, sat in traffic 95% of the time. I enjoyed the track itself but it was an exhausting day with nearly 3hr drive home!

Gutted, I always typically went with Bookatrack or RMA, who tend to limit the amount of slots by 45-55 total, so typically never ever any queuing, but of course instead of £150-£200 for a day they are £300-£500, but do tend to operate evening sessions for around £200.
