Show Us Your Motors!

It was my wife's first car :P she went on to get her Evoque and I drove it around while my S4 is in our garage... it's still in there and I bought the RR Sport... and the Taxi, but never got rid. It's got a sportex exhaust on it, and now a set of 40mm springs :P it's so good on fuel for small trips, is great for parking in town because it's tiny and it owes us nothing, so kinda CBA to get rid of it. Instead my wife was keen to get on the track for her first track day (I know, I heard this and immediately approved) so thought this would be perfect to smash round on her first track day. It'll be much like Bad Obsession's C1 in no time... :D

Terry got a clean at the weekend, unlike Celine above (yes, my 6yr old has named every single car).

I think I have decided what needs to happen with Terry, so will update the thread soon!

Edith and Roger are filthy. I need to change the front pads on the Sport when I get a moment. Someone drove into her front arch last week, most will polish off but some through the paint on the bumper corner. Morons. Hey ho.

New (to me) Part ex'd for my e92 M3 last weekend, Loving it so far.. So different to the S65 in terms of power delivery.

In for PS4S's on each corner and tracking this week

In time I'll likely purchase the MPE exhaust and maybe a rear diffuser, that's probably about it.

Which tyres does it have on at the moment? When I got my F80 it had OEM Conti SportContact 5P on all four corners and they were, frankly, lethal in the cold and wet! On the first day I had the car it went sideways on me whilst overtaking a lorry. I found them so ridiculously sensitive to changing surfaces as well, so going around a damp roundabout where there were largish patches of repaired road surface could easily send the car sideways.

Since I swapped to PS4S the car is practically glued to the road (unless you want to unglue it, which is VERY easy if you try as you've no doubt found!) and so much more confidence inspiring to drive in all conditions. Even now with my rears on ~3mm it grips incredibly well even in the cold and wet weather we have at the moment.

That surprises me, I've always thought of ContiSports as being some of the best tyres out there.

Wonder how it would feel on some actual lethal tyres, Autogrips or something. Crash it before you even start the engine. ;) :p

It has Yokohomas on the front about half done and PSS on the back looking almost new so I should be able to sell the rears on.

Although I like the PSS, similar to yourself when I changed from PSS to PS4S on my e92 they gripped so much more, especially in the wet so I suspect it will the the same on the f80

Maybe the SportContact 6 was a massive improvement, but the 5P, which to be fair only had about 4-5mm of tread of them when I bought the car were utter trash in the cold & wet for lateral grip at least. PS4S is in a different league!

Hi there

Well all paid for, transportation booked and due this Thursday, so here are a few pictures of my 1978 C3 Corvette Pace Car, I do not own these pictures, they were taken by previous owner:

So its a limited edition pace car, with L82 engine, the car is completely stock, including the original 8 track radio, nearly everything works on car except for the clock and cruise control.
Car was imported by Gavin Roe (C3 specialist) three years ago, there is no rust/rot on the bird cage or elsewhere on car, Gavin did an interior refresh and it has brand new brakes, calipers all round along with 4 new tyres just fitted and a few thousand spent on other restoration work.

The only modification is a full catless exhaust which I am told sounds good and not obnoxious, this shall be my first classic car, the carb was rebuilt just over a year ago and it runs very nice, had several video calls with owner.

Its not fast and it won't handle very well but is is something I have always wanted and its tax free and MOT exempt but I shall do the MOT yearly as good practice.

My plans is to enjoy it and just get it perfect and keep it in great condition, it has 46k miles, 3 US owners and I shall be the third UK owner, Gavin been first, then current owner and myself. :)

Great buy @Gibbo and please please keep it original. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will ensure it holds its value!

Do not modify this car :D

But I was planning a crate engine, the loudest side pipes your ears have ever heard and painting it with a colour changing paint, would this be bad? :D

Nope the only thing I may play with on this car is the exhaust if I dislike the one it comes with, apart from that the mission is to keep it spotless and maybe get it to show standard, dismantle, clean, rebuild, otherwise enjoy it should be more than quick enough if its running circa 230HP for just cruising around with the targa tops off and enjoy the smell of fuel. :D

Can you lower it a bit? The front is reaching for the sky somewhat. Cool car though.

I think the suspension is adjustable on them but if not I will look at my options as I will refresh parts of the car in need so a suspension overhaul could happen and maybe change the rear leaf spring to the new more modern plastic version that came on the later 81/82 cars as think a few owners do that as it saves 30kg but its all stuff I need to research, no rush as its a car that I plan and hope to keep for many years.
