Show Us Your Motors!

These cars will do loads of miles without a worry, bullet proof pretty much. They are however the new stone spewing king of cars, a title formerly held by the Performante and now taken by this one, which caused my windscreen crack. Nothing to do with me being 1 foot from the rear of it.

My 458 got its chip same manner, chasing another car through Scotland, lol. :D
Then forgot about said chip as it was just under the wiper.

Proceed to do track day at Silverstone and then boom giant crack across the windscreen and a bill for £3600 from Ferrari, thankfully insurance paid up less £100. :)

That GT3 wing puts yours to shame @Housey. How can you live with yourself? :p
Cuz in the olden days....

Glad I was with ManningUK as many insurers won’t pay beyond a certain amount as a lot of 458 owners have found out.

Manning were well over £1000 a year more for me on the McLaren. That’s a lot of windscreens!

If they were remotely competitive then I would have gone that way (or Lockton Performance as their call centre person actually sounded like they were interested and not high on drugs unlike Manning!)

Manning always been professional for me it cost me just shy of a grand a year to insure the 458 with track cover.

When I paid for my windscreen Manning informed me I’d be reimbursed within two weeks and they actually paid me back within 24hrs.

Nothing but credit where credit is due, I’ve got my own dedicated account manager and I can make changes to my policy whenever I like free of charge.

Best insurance company I’ve dealt with and always competitive for me, they insure my 458, Exige and Spyder all with track cover and all agreed values for less than 2.5k a year which I think is pretty good.

Hmm. That couldn’t be further from my experience so maybe I got unlucky. Perhaps next time round I’ll remember to ask you to put me in touch with your account person and give them another chance :)

Had this almost a year now.... time flies. Toyota Tundra SR5 Plus, 5.7 V8. Decent torque, terrible on petrol. :D

Petrol costs aren’t such a big deal when it barely depreciates and never goes wrong. The newer Rams and F150s have far better aesthetics both interior and exterior wise, but the Tundra is a million miles ahead in terms of build quality. I’ve seen a few with 400-500k miles on the original engine and gearbox.

I am now in the game of eating junk, urinating in laybys and ordering prostitutes ;). I have done plenty of track days in my time but there is something quite special about getting a blind sided angled reverse in a bay that is meant for a class 2 or squeezing a 40 tonne load of cabbages around a farm that a Fiat Panda would struggle with.

My first gig and it isn't a V8 but is heaps better than the DAF I started with.

New car day for me. Defender D300 HSE X-Dynamic. So it’s the new straight 6 diesel with the ZF 8 speed and a twin speed transfer box.
Pangea green, Kahki interior, heated cooled seats, upgraded 11.4” screen.

Bit of a strange day as was really looking forward to showing this to my dad as he was excited about it when I told him I ordered one and he had a Discovery 1 and I think wore the jacket he got with it for about 15 years. Unfortunately he passed away last month so I’ve been less interested in collection that I would have been :( (bit of sharing there which is rare for me)…

Real surprise as nothing on the build slot
I selected suggested 7 seats but it is which is great for some flexibility and can take us all and my Mum for days out.

Condolences about your father, I know how hard it can be.

lovely spec defender, I actually had a deposit down on one of these, in Pangea green too before I went for the DBX. Big fan of the new defender despite all the older owners hate.

The diesel is the one to go for too(other than the v8 but then you can mount anything on the roof!).
