Still need answer to the winning formula pls

Apols missed it but sadly no winning tricks beyond the fact I spend too much on comps, have been incredibly lucky & personally more likely to go for low odds / undersold comps which possibly helps a little vs going for the fully sold out ones :)

Wow free Evo, can't complain there. very nice driveway.

The V is still in the bodyshop as quite a few OEM trims were on backorder. Spoiler now back on. Absolute pig to clean and take off as they're both bolted and bonded. Have decided to pad the bottom with foam and only bolt it so that it's easily removable in future.

Amazed you can stick pick up new OEM trims but that's a winner :) Looking incredibly clean. A friend has an Evo 5 but in his own words externally it's 50 shades of silver all over, underside been completely restored though.

Which site do you use? I signed up for BOTB but seems very mass market.

The one I won the Evo through was Dream Car Giveaways - at least with DCG you know the max tickets and your preciese odds are 1 in x (x being max entries) to win the car.

Personally don't like BOTB because the odds could be 1 in a million or 1 in a thousand you just don't know, they take varying amounts of £ depending on what car you enter but it's all on one single competition. If someone wins with a small car prize they're laughing at all the people who paid a large £ amount to enter for the expensive cars. If you look at companies house you can see how much BOTB were drawing in during lockdown (from memory it was about a million £ a week) which gives you an idea of the scale of entries they were getting then. Going on a tangent here though, happy to start another thread if want to discuss :)

Standard, mines still a few shades lol. But you have to stop somewhere.

Couple of photos from Monday, back again Wednesday :D

Great fun on circuit! :)
How does it compare driving an exotic on a track to a proper track car? I know Ferrari's are "speed machines" in the 1980s literature, but are they are a patch on the Exige? How far is the Ferrari from the Aston?

Well the Ferrari was about even with an Exige 430 Cup on the day, when he was behind I could not lose him and when he was in front he could not lose me, so very even, he had a considerable tyre advantage, cup 2 VS PS4S and an alignment for track VS my road alignment.

We conceded in the end that the 458 on Cup 2 tyres with an aggressive alignment would resulted in the Exiges not been able to keep up.

Also had a play with the EX500 DCT Exige and again quite an even match, just tyres holding the 458 back particular after around 5 minutes into the session where tyre temperature exceeded 70c and was pushing towards 90c.

My V8 Vantage was not even in same ball park on track as the 458 or Exige, simply too heavy making it much slower on track even a track like Donington.

That's epic. I guess I have been in circles where folk say Ferrari is all about the badge, driving to dinner etc. But clearly it is a seriously capable machine if it's keeping up with a proper track focused car. Thanks!

Track day #4 this year is Donington. My first time there in the GT4 and I think it's probably my overall favourite UK track. You get fun elevation changes, good variety of corners and straight bits, GP quality surface, decent garages and it's not £600 a time like Silverstone. Only wish it was a bit closer to home!

If anyone can do a proper photoshop on this top one to remove the Lotus let me know can send the full file, would love to get it printed.

Great coincidence we were booked on the same day. Gibbo offered a passenger session in the 458 and have to say I was blown away, exceeded my expectations considerably. Cup2s and aggressive geo it would be properly properly quick, I've been in other supercars you'd assume were a step up on the 458 on track (GT3, AMG GTR, 570s) and have to say there was not much in it at all. Helps that Gibbo is very familiar with the track aswell :).

Afterwards he jumped in my passenger seat and gave a few tips as I don't know the track that well, quite successfully hunted down and dispatched a 718 GT4 which made me quite happy.
