Something new for me.
I sold the Z4 in my sig back in September, bought a Alfa Brera and regretted it ever since. Finaly sold the Brera last month and bought this....

It brings a big grin to my face every time :D
I'll not be selling it any time soon, I'll just have to have a 2-3 car garage (which will probably include another Z4 in the future)
It's a good job I moved from 40 miles away from work, to around 2 miles :)

I hate you :p

Is that a tape deck!? :p

Nice car I have to say I like those a lot

Thanks :)

There's a cd changer in the boot (thank god)
I'm not going to start putting a modern headunit in there, I like the original style and I can't put a double din unit in easily so I won't go for a touch screen satnav which would have looked the least offensive.

I've spent a fair bit sorting tyres, oil service, rear springs and suspension alignment but now it drives like it's supposed to and I know it's all up to my standards.

I just love the solid feeling of everything and the "waftability" Then there's the fun of a V8 to play with :D

Thanks :)

Yeah, I thought their might be as the unit above the tape-deck looks like a multi-changer.

It's strange how well that has aged aesthetically from the exterior, the interior looks like new, but the sparse steering wheel and dials give the game away!

What age/engine is that? :)

Thanks :)

Good call - OEM > *.

Lovely looking 8, and seems like it's in great condition :)

The cars a 97, so it's the later 4.4 V8, instead of the 4.0. It also means it has the better auto with steptronic, which can be fun...

That pioneer unit looks pretty nice actually, but I'd have to find one with orange back lighting and the standard unit doesn't exactly sound bad.

It does still amaze me that a 20+ year old design has aged so well.

It looks quite a lot cleaner under the bonnet than my car does, which is 3 years younger than that. Then again I suspect yours had a loving previous owner/s

I'm not that surprised really - remember this this was built to compete with the likes of Aston Martins, I dont imagine anyone's going to look at a DB9 in 15 years and say "cor, what a minger"

Out of interest herminator - what made you regret the brera?

It looked good and had plenty of power but that was about all it did well.
It drank too much for a diesel, it was too heavy so it wasn't all that sporty yet still had a hard crashy ride. It had a few electrical problems. And whilst the 230bhp was decent, it's power band wasn't and it was going through the wrong wheels...
Be careful what you're driving before you go on a test drive, I went from driving a S-Type jag, to driving the Brera, so it felt quite nimble and the roads I went on were obviously fairly smooth (like a lot of test drives with dealers....)
It wasn't an awful car, just one I wasn't happy having a lot of money invested in when I could have something better for less. It definetly suffered from being compared to my Z4 in terms of value for money.

From now on, it's petrol and rwd for me...
