Only time I've ever used heated seats in my own or anyone else's car is to warm the backend of someone unsuspecting. Can keep those along with heated steering wheels :p

On my daily go to work car, I couldnt live without heated steering and heated seats (leather) once it gets cold in winter. Same applies to heated windscreen or pre conditioning. Guess I am getting soft in my old age!

Windscreen and pre-heating the interior are 100% useful and would happily take both. But I guess so! ;)

Actually bought this a few months ago to repalce https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/61043493/2007-honda-civic-es-i-chester but insurance companies are slow, and then it was back to the dealer for some snags before I could finally drop it off at the detailer

(had to make use of the CPF filter on the camera to dial back some of the reflections in those!)

Dropped my GT R into Mercedes Birmingham this morning and they have provided a really decent loan car, with 300 miles on the clock from new. GLE 450 with nice 3L V6 engine and lots and lots of options.

Directly compared to the X5 equivalent I would take this.
Have you been in the the facelifted X5? It's nicer still.
I think the GLE looks too flashy. Surprisingly, the Q7 looks much more understated than both the X5 and the GLE.

I rented an X5 in August when in the US, but I can't say if it was a facelift of not. It was a 2023 car I think and was an X5 4.0 with the 3L 6 cylinder engine. I have always preferred BMW to Mercedes to drive but this I think is the better car, though I would take diesel in both I think over petrol for that low down torque.

after testing both, I went the opposite and took the X5. Would do so again, any day of the week. The Merc is a nicer place (just) to be sat inside, granted but the x5 drives better IMO

Ive not done enough distance to make a firm judgement to be honest, just an initial feeling. Both drive like trucks compared to my Merc so would need to back to back them to be informed but felt the Mercedes impressed me more on first impression. Not sure if US spec is the same as UK spec either, I did feel the X5 was very soft and un-BMW like actually but again, could be settings.

Probably settings. X5 in sport mode doesnt want to be any firmer! But yeah they are both tanks and both will feel like that comapred to your daily. X5 has more room inside as well. The GLE always felt really small in the drivers seat.
