Show Us Your Motors!

I really like it :)

Had it long?

I'd be really hard pressed to decide between the full soft top or the Folding hard top style
Thank you.

I've had this model for just over a year now.

Previous to this ND I owned the NC PRHT MX5 (MK 3.5). The retractable hardtop was good but I found the roof and the mechanism did weigh the car down which had an impact both on handling and speed. Prior to that I had the NB SVT MX5 (MK 2.5)which was the oldest of the bunch, I would love to own a tidy NA but I'm unable to hang my plate on that model :(

I haven't driven the ND hardtop version so I couldn't comment. Looks wise (imo) it seems to to be more of a targa / T Bar with the hardtop retracted and I'm not entirely sold on the looks.

True regarding the t bar style and added weight. I guess it just makes it feel ever so slightly more practical but tbh I've no issue going soft top again :)

Both look great.

Do the cars feels like they share similar DNA, through the variations you have driven? As it does it feel like the older MX5s (in a good way)?

From my experience the newer ND models certainly do hark back to the original NA models. I believe there's only about 60KG in weight difference between the two which really is nothing when you look at the years between the two models and then compare them to any other marque which will have changed substantially over the years. They're never going to be fast cars, unless you're dropping a considerable amount of cash under the bonnet. For me personally it was always about enjoying the drive with the roof down and the fantastic handling these deliver. My NC while heavier and larger than the other two was easily the slowest of them all. This ND is only a 1.5L and I think around 130BHP standard but it revs quite happily throughout and is happiest above 4K :D

sold recently because i didnt drive it and road tax went up from 600 to 650 .
I do miss it though

Thanks, yeah it looks stunning, much better in the flesh. It took him 3 or 4 days, had a full wash, decon etc followed by a single stage polish and then the ceramic coat.

So after waiting 2.5 years for the wife's Velar, she decided we now needed a run-around for school trips and runs to Belgium.

A few days later A class premium plus, I think she just wanted more cabin lighting.

I must admit the new MBUX is impressive, the front-facing camera zooms in on traffic lights and displays satnav instructions over live feed, as well as the centre of dials and hud. It's pretty hard to take the wrong turn now lol.
