Can't be that hard trying to sort out an electrical problem in a car with a total of 5 wires?

:p

me + cars = :confused::confused:

:D:D

Maybe worth adding that the engine wasn't too well either. Was my first car and I've learnt from the silly mistakes lol.

It's my fault really, I got so excited with the car I resprayed it (£100 respray on the driveway), and bought new bodyparts of it, but never thought to spend money sorting out it's mechanical faults.

Stupid mistake which cost me dearly.

Well since I bought the Galant I've fixed most it's issues or have the parts to do so:

I've spend 530€ on a new clutch , 250 on 2 new flex bits + welding in the exhaust, 50 on an MOT and 100 on a set of 4 original ( 1 year old, from a member of galant club who lowered his) springs. Still need to fix the arches, the seat, and I need a new rad as the temp. bodge job has already failed once (and then I ''fixed'' it again). I'm eyeing for a new leather seat for about 200 and I'll have the arches fixed & resprayed soon too, once all that is done I''ll finally move my amp+sub from my Volvo, get a new headunit, and sell the Volvo.

All in all I guess you guys were right, if I managed my money better and didn't rush into this and took into account all the tax& insurance I've paid, I'd have a nice 280bhp 4wd VR4 by now, there's one in mint condition for 5000€ on galantfans forum, live n learn eh ?

I do still enjoy the way it drives and it still feels quick to me with ''just'' 163 bhp, but I could have had a so much quicker car if I was just more patient and didn't throw away my money ( On running and fixing this Galant and I spent a lot of the car budget on stuff like a new TV in my room, an AV receiver, new speakers, a subwoofer in my room, etc). The example I bought was indeed wrong and neglected though, cheap tyres, the clutch, the cooling stuff, the arches, lowering springs, the volt&econometers in the center console, etc... I was blinded by the price of 1000€ while it's still valued @ 3000€ by insurers and 2500€ by this buying guide from the anwb ( car agency/club/breakdown cover company thingy). I'm lucky the engine is fine and the chassis is too.

The Volvo, was indeed the better buy, while more expensive, now 32k km on it cost me 21€ on things that actually broke ( gear bearing and thermostat), and they weren't essential. Aside from that I just had to top the oil, get 2 new tyres, and change the rear brake pads, engine still works as it should and everything else does too, even though as you guys might know I wasn't exactly that caring for it and ragged it about often in the first year I've had it.

May aswell chuck this in here, my latest purchase :)

It's a 1998 Rover 620ti, in silver.

- all electric windows
- working A/C
- half leather interior
- full electric sunroof
- TorSen LSD as standard
- 197bhp 2.0 Turbocharger petrol

Paid £180 for it, what a bargain! With tax and test too, and it's a good'un. :)

Thanks. Wasn't all meant to be correct like that, I just really really love the look of yellow lightbulbs, especially the reflection in the light. Look awesome driving at night too.
I thought it was for the retro look.
I've never been a fan, probably because I remember all the French-registered cars back in the day with their silly yellow lights :p

Looks pretty good otherwise. The G60 lights look nice.

Ah, well it was partially for a retro look as it's the retroness about them that I find appealing, but I still have them on other cars too. Such as my Rover as you can see from it's photo.

Thanks though. And g60 lights? Where are they?

The rear lights are stock, the heckblende is aftermarket from Hella and the front lights are from a stock Jetta. The 7 slat grill is from the early spec Jettas. :)

Very smart looking that clio - but I'm really interested in the photography - I know nothing so sorry if this is an obvious question.

How did you get it blurred in the background like that? Especially 6th pic down, did you use photoshop?

You can use a long focal length (zooming in) and wide aperture (low f number) which throws the background out. SS has a DSLR so its a lot easier to get that effect but you can still do it on a compact. Search online for tutorials on depth of field, they'll explain it a lot better than I can :p
