Show Us Your Motors!

I thought you said that would run rings around a DC5 mike? LOL. Looks like it would fall to bits.

Not quite my exact words, but you should not let appearances deceive you. A well setup car that weighs next to nothing, with the right power band and right tyres might just surprise you ;)

Surely a heatgun (applied very carefully and gradually) would bring back a bit of blackness to those?

They were never black to begin with, but bumper care applied in those photos have sorted out just as much as a heatgun would tbh - the plastic is heavily stained and faded in places as well as damaged in others (You can see the marks on the front bumper where it is loaded onto the trailer with little sympathy)

I may give it a go at some point, but my experience is that heatgunning doesn't last all that long anyway.

Mike, is that your workshop/garage in the first set of pictures? Hugely jealous if it is!

The unit belongs to my Dad. It is useful, but I do not use it as much as you may think. For something that dictates I cannot drive the car (like Mondeo spring for example) I'll do it at home, most other times I'll use my mate's garage as there is a far greater selection of tools and the advantage of ramps :)

It is rather useful for polishing sessions though, as doing it in my own garage is rather cramped - plus I can work as late as I like in the unit and make as much noise as I like with no neighbours to consider.

Me and a few mates had a 2 poster lift in a unit we used to rent.

Absolute god send when changing exhausts and suspension components. Miss having that place but being 40 miles away, I very rarely used it. Seemed a waste to be paying for it with that in mind.

Why did you do that to the Audi  it looked quite smart before, now it looks ...well less smart, the wood was nice too, set the interior off nicely, now it's ...black and drab.

Maybe, but were hardly talking a crap handling powerful FWD car here, with a few subtle handling mods to a DC5, (like mine lol ) it's pretty much the best FWD handling car out there with regards track times, etc.

What does it weigh and whats the power/torque?

I quite like it for the record.

guys u either get it or you dont..

wood was discusting propa old man

replaced with carbon fibre.

tyres on audi are 215/35/18's

7.5" at front and 8.5" on back.

polo was woth all the effort in the world.

loved showing up better cars nothing like a sleeper :D lol

I reckon it makes about 110bhp at the wheels and estimate weight at around 800KG.

Neither have been measured, however.

In your opinion maybe, I admit Audi aren't the finest in the industry at wood, but it's hardly that naff orange plastic stuff you find in a lot of American cars, it was decent enough.

If you don't like it then that is fair enough, to state that it's "disgusting" and "propa old man" is a bit daft though really, also you spelt 'proper' incorrectly ...and miss typed "disgusting" for that matter :p (I guess you know that though) ...is correct spelling and grammar "propa old man" too ? My opinion is that you have made it look 'ordinary' and bland now, where as before it had a touch of executive car about it.
