been waiting an age for my insurers to payout on the rx7 so i could get another one, but they still haven't and i needed a car to get back to uni and to work while i'm there, so i had to buy a little runabout...
my old rallye-van was fun and i saw this xsi for sale only 30mins away from me. a bit heavier than the rallye-van (rear seats/electrics etc) but still great handling.
the best thing is though, this is the most mint example of any 10+ year old car i've ever seen though. hell, it's in better condition that most 3 year old cars it's done 39,000 miles in total (was owned by an old man from new to 2001 in which time he covered 19,000 and kept it garaged, then by a lady until last week who covered another 20,000), and there are in total 2 very very tiny little inperfections in the paintwork on the entire car (and they are hardly noticable as it is!) and a smidgen of rust on the fog lamp covers (so i've ordered new ones from peugeot today). i'm well chuffed with it, just a shame it's too nice to rag the **** off it cos i want to keep it nice and mint for when i get paid out and have to sell it
My 1989 MkII Astra CDi (Owned the car for 9 years) Its my project now as I have a company car to wreck on a daily basis.
The tow bar has gone. It was only there for a few weeks while I sorted out the new engine.
Now has a 16v GTE 20XE engine installed and full GTE running gear etc.
Just shy of 160BHP in its current form however I'm trying to track down a Calibra that wants to give up its Turbo'd lump. Plans are to Phase 2 it with a few other mods, aiming for 250+ BHP.
Nothing special I know but I love it. a lot of fun to drive and surprises a lot of people when on the move
