Nice Golf. Drove my mum's in anger last week and it's a total hoot to drive, but also ridiculously sedate when cruising.

Is that wheel supposed to be leather?

You need to see royalsteeringwheels.com to sort you out man, you can definitely afford the £105 he asks for a spanking new leather refurb on that thing!

Thanks Robbie, now I have to get my silly Honda wheel re-trimmed. It looks horrible and feels horrible, will contact them.

How is yours lasting?

I thought the M3 wheel at Palmer was too fat, I suspect mrk's has the same girth. How did you find its girth?

Thank you for the new sig :D

I chose the normal non smooth leather for toip and bottom and perforated for the side - It's not been long still but so far so good, still looks like new. He did say to clean these and keep them looking new you should regularly wipe with a damp cloth and use no leather cleaners or wipes etc so I've done exactly that once a week :)

Thanks.

I'd be going for the same leather layout as yours, the current Honda wheel is like that anyway. Nice new red stiching would also be nice, using a shapie marker to re-colour them didn't do much at all and being a 11+yr old wheel it looks crap anyway!

Also on mine, where your thumbs rest on the inside of the main lip (at quarter to three positions) some of the struction has worn away so I might fill that with sealant or a hard setting glue before hand, but I can discuss that with steering wheel man.

let me know how you get on ad! mines a bit of a dog too

Will do, although I won't sort it before xmas as I'm paying out a silly amount to fly to Kuala Lumpur/Thai Islands for Xmas and New Year.

Mine is the later UK spec Momo wheel though, not the standard pish early UK one. JDM wheels are nice and would look great re-trimmed.

Yeah, your MOMO wheel is FERRARI

Mines just rubbed off where the wheel lock lived, no budget for cosmetic work myself until it's re-bushed!

Good thinking, re-bushes get my respect. I'm done with cosmetics, my Tegiwa red stiched gear gaitor was my last cosmetic mod. Technically the wheel isn't just cosmetic, it's a bit aesthetic and functional. My wheel actually sheds bits onto my hands should I go on a long journey and a nice new leather one should stop this. Plus we spend enough time touching and using the wheel so I think it's certainly worth it.

Otherwise I'm just spending my money on general maintenance these days and undersealing it for the Scottish winter.

Freshly detailed :D
