So is spending that amount of money on a car. If the car is worth it then great but a 320d is not worth £30k.

To you maybe. It's worth every penny to me. We just draw the line at different places.

Is it BMW Select with a large balloon or something to offset the cost?

I traded the MINI in and paid the difference in cash.

Certainly puts it into perspective. I mean, I have posts on here disputing whether my E92 335i was really worth the £20k it cost me... and here is a £30k 320d :/

Did you go for the Pro Nav? Should be the later version with Album Art etc on one of those.

It wipes the floor with a Mini, that's for sure.

It certainly does. The feel, comfort and build quality is just streets ahead of what I've been used to. It's also nice having a boot lol!

No Sat-nav. THAT, I didn't think was worth it ;). I decided to hold back on that and look into some aftermarket speakers.

Picked up this wagon today. I'm pretty damn happy with it. For sheer pace it's equal to if not quicker than the Z4, mainly due to a more compliant ride. Despite sounding like a tramp with a chest infection the engine is an absolute peach. So far so good.

Rubbish pics taken on my phone before it got too dark. Not that it matters, you've all seen one of these before :D

No Nav?

Surely that will absolutely destroy the resale value?

It'll have a significant effect. It doesn't make sense not to spec nav on a brand new car bought on a PCP. The calculations take into account the resale value so adding nav really doesn't cost that much extra per month.

I don't like either of those wheels! Satisfaction has not been met today!
They're round and they have legal rubber on them. That's enough to keep me happy :D

You have GOT to be joking? The nav was the single best thing about my E92. It's not the nav system it's the HDD CIC iDrive - its truely fantastic. All your music, full internet access, album art, seamless integration into the car...

I thought you were mad before. Now I think you are bonkers. Nearly 30 grand on a 2 litre diesel without the iDrive system :(

Scuzi is definately the winner on this page. Fundamentally the same car yet his is less than half the price and has the correct number of cylinders :(

I didn't pay for anything I didn't want, and got everything I was after.

I put a high value on owning it from new. That's what I've paid the extra for. Maybe that opinion will change in the future, but I'm perfectly happy with my purchase. :)

P.s. Didn't realise it was a competition? Lol.

Yeah, the iDrive isn't really about the resale value, it's about what it gives you. Especially if it's a leased car!

It's not leased.

Hmm. My father didn't opt for satnav on his Golf, but you get so much with the touch-screen RCD 510 that you're literally only missing satnav. That, and you can retro-fit RNS 510 very easily.
You get so, so much more with 'nav' option on a BMW than satnav. That, and retrofitting iDrive would be a first ;)

£10,00-£15,000 is a lot to pay just so that someone else hasn't sat in it before, especially for someone complaining they had to get a small engine because the insurance was too much on a bigger engine
