Some recent changes to my 335i.

The darker pic looks sweet, I'd only drive it at night. :D

Black fake CSL wheels :( :( :( :( :( :(

The rears don't look right, are they not staggered or something? They are usually more.. convex (I think thats the right word..)

It's a lovely looking car but I think those wheels and colour have tipped it towards the wrong side :(

I appreciate its actually a nightmare picking wheels for an E92 - none of the factory ones look that great and they are very wheel sensitive, but I'm really not sure that was the right way to go. If you did want CSL reps you really should have done a bit more homework as you can get some very good replicas which have the right look at the back - as it is they currently look obviously fake as the rear look just seems wrong.

Edit: Amazing view of Heathrow from your road though, thats awesome :D

I think concave is the word you're after :p

I'm not sure they're meant to be CSL reps though? The spoke pattern is only similar in that it's the typical BBS style of forks, beyond that they're quite different really.

Like I said before it's very much a personal preference.

Regarding the rears, the reason they are not as concave, is to do with the fact that running deeper offsets (which were available) at the back would cause rubbing issues and therefore would need spacers.

Also that isn't my house, it's a friends I was visiting :p

I do sympathise with the wheel position - I agonised for months before I bought my 335i trying to decide what to do about wheels as I hate the OEM ones as much as you presumably do but found very little obvious solutions. I was going to go with 313's in the end but they are a bit marmite. Obviously the best case scenario is a set of BBS LM which look fantastic but at £3.2k they are rather out of reach.

I've seen some pretty good CSL reps on the E92 - some even with the correct offset at the back without issues. It doesnt look quite right at the back as it currently is.

I'll concede the colour as thats obviously personal preference and I cannot stand black wheels on anything, though :p

Yep absolutely hated the 225m's and have been looking to replace them. If I had the kind of money available to drop over £3k on a set of alloy wheels (LM's of course) I would, but frankly I could never get over the guilt.

I looked at 313m's but they had far too much open space for my liking. I've been looking for quite a while, trying to find the right set that would fit the car without the need for spacers. I assure you the ones you've seen with deeper concave offsets were more than likely running spacers. Call it a compromise as I was tired of waiting to replace them.

WHY DO YOU HATE PERFECTION?!

Perfection is so far from a 225M it's got a different area code :p

BMW appear to have lost the plot with OEM wheel designs around the time the MV2's first appeared. Not an awful lot has been that great ever since, which is a shame because some of the earlier designs are amongst the best OEM wheels ever made IMHO.

E92 on LM's is perfection, mind, though ouch @ cost.

Wrong! ;)

What about the style 230's on the SE models - they suit the car to the ground.

I really like the 225m, i think the MV3 is a bit "meh" but alright, i loved the MV2, disliked the MV1.

However, the best BMW wheel ever to be on a 3 series is the CSL's. Now those I really like.

Love the csl's but mine are actually replicas of the e92 m3 zcp (style 359) alloys which are based around csl's.

They'd still managed to get my doors. People are dumb around here, they walk 3 abreast and I've seem them rub up other peoples cars. Plus I don't usualy keep my Monaro at home.
