V8 Autobiography. Massive improvement over the P38.

I could never drive one of these even though it looks nice! The driving position is like sitting on top of a house!

Yes it is a very commanding driving position, especially when air suspension is in extended mode - quite a contrast to my xk8.

by not being a total 'tard unlike the majority of BMW owners in the snow.

I suppose if you live in a relatively flat area it'd be 'ok' ...then again we haven't had much snow really so far. Last year though I couldn't even get my Jag off the drive without some serious digging and melting of snow, and when I did I got it stuck across the road, unable to move without help. I do live in a fairly hilly area though. Few years before when I had a 330CI, I would have been totally stranded if it wasn't for a friend of mine who basically leaned down on the back of the car as hard as he could and shoved with all his might for near a mile ...I just couldn't move the car at all otherwise (well sort of sideways a bit), no amount of coaxing would let it get any traction and that was only a slight incline most of the way, I was able to move it on the flat without help though, very carefully and slowly. It took us over 2 hours to travel less than 8 miles, that was a cold night (for my friend at least who got absolutely soake).

I know a lot of people do drive like 'tards' in the snow and seem to have no idea at all, however in my experience, at least around here, in anything but very light snow, rear wheel drive is a total no go with summer tyres ...you're ok on the main roads as they are always gritted, but most of the roads around where I live are not and many are varying degrees of hills. So it was a serious question actually, I really did wonder how you managed, I wasn't being sarcastic.

This is from last weekend:

about as far from flat as it gets :p

Oh yea that hill is much like what I was talking about. Can see the road through the snow though, so it's a thin enough layer to get some traction through.

That was the weekend before the one weve just had moeks, was worse on Saturday just gone!

(EDIT: no idea what the hell happened, i was posting from my phone lol)
