Fitted an Alpine IDA-X305s to my Focus, managed to source a facia adaptor that was better than the usual chocolate box plastic attempts. Doesn't look as good as stock but I'm happy to trade that off with extra functionality. I'll replace the crappy photo with another once I get a chance.

Nope, you just get a big knob to play with. Screen is too small for that anyway.

Surprising at the lack of Android powered head units from the big names. I'd be all over them like Zefan on sig sizes!

Janesy, where did you get that fascia adaptor? My brother has a focus and his adaptor is awful, it doesn't even lock into the dash properly!

I know the one you mean, it's awful. I purchased mine on ebay over a year ago but this one looks the same. It properly clicks into place and doesn't rattle about which is nice. Although the one I linked to has a better stereo surround as mine cut outs so you can unclip it which is a bit unsightly.

No but the clips at the top do a good enough job, the pocket at the bottom helps as well. Put it this way, it's 100x better than the normal one you see about.

As your Focus is the facelift there are a lot of cheap/nice OEM mods you can do. One that amuses me is the footwell lights. The sockets are there you just need to buy some LEDs.

Also, if I'm not mistaken the wiring loom for the cruise control is also prewired.

Wiring loom for most Ford Focus' is there for many optional extra's. Although it only appears on cars post 2003. And the odd pre 2003 car here and there.

I found the following wiring looms were actually there, but not connected:

- Cruise control
- Variable wiper stalk control
- Footwell lights

I'm sure there would be many more!!!

I've got an 03 plate focus but it was built in Sept 2002, I'll have a dig around for the footwell wiring at some point.

B-Ry, how are the standard speakers in the Focus, I have a Ghia and I'm thinking about swapping the head unit for a double DIN satnav model. Would a decent one such as Pioneer help with the standard speakers?

Standard speakers are fine, not used the new unit in anger so I'll have to report back. How are you going to fit a double DIN unit into a MK1 Focus dash?
