Crashed my little A1 this morning after staying over a at mates house.

Pile up this morning, was up near woolley services. Came near the cross roads doing less than 10 mph - no traction and brakes were useless and ended up skidding towards those cars who had just had an accident and then put it up the on verge. I got away lightly! Dented/scratched front wing and a few scratches near it/cracked mirror. Managed to drive home eventually but it shakes you up! :|

Not looking forward to next year insurance premium ... hopefully it won't be as bad as I think (it should go down because I will then be 21 though I've now lost ncb for this year) .

Should not have woken up this morning!

At least it wasnt your fault mate.

Thing is though the insurance company have counted it as a fault by me and will cover any repairs for the blue merc (partial - as any front damage is obviously not me). It was a bit awkward trying to explain it over the phone but basically all those other cars were in that exact same position (had the accident only a few minutes before) and my car just slotted in behind with only minor damage (no front bumper/bonnet etc damage). I dunno whether to send this picture in to the insurance company or not, has anyone been in a similar situation? :|

Annoying thing is I had an accident nearly 3 years ago shortly after passing my test in my old Mini and that would have not been counted on my next insurance renewal. :?

The A1 seems to be driveable as I managed the 80 or so miles back home, but I don't know if braking/skidding on ice or snow could have caused any issues in the future as it appeared to brake fine on the journey home. Admiral booked me into ******* Accident Repair Centre next week so god only knows what courtesy car I will get. I should count myself lucky though as further down the road the Police officer said a car had lost control, gone over a ditch and into a field, with people seriously injured. :o
