Mini is in the garage and they don't think I will have it back till Monday at the earliest. Its in to get the gearbox and immobiliser done under warranty.

Yes buses are the future for me once I have my new car. Can't be doing around 22k a year in a Focus ST. Using buses cuts it down to 8k. Though it is adding 2 wasted hours to my day 4 times a week.

If you are slumming it on buses for the most time at least get something more interesting than a focus ST!

The focus ST is like the definitive hot hatch, perfect for everyday and then weekend hooning with space for your mates.

No problems so far. The indicator lights are already de-tangoed, but to change the reflector strips apparently you need to take out the wheel arches and go through the back. I wouldn't know as they were like that when I got it :)

What on earth?

Why would you waste two hours a day for a Focus ST?

You'd be mad to do it if you had something silly, let alone something as every day as a Focus?

EDIT: Didn't phrase that very well. If it comes across as elitest, it shouldn't as I drive 3 figure mondeo. What I mean is that if it were something bonkersnuts like a VXT then it'd be "eccentric", but it's just nuts for a (very nice) hot hatch... (imoetc) :)

Gave it a polish today. I also did my car ;)

There is some pretty severe "orange-peeling" all over. I'll work out what to do about that later.

Very nice

14k work miles and I get paid £240 a year towards it by the company I am at. The rest is out of my pocket.

This is what happens when you work for the social services. Only the manages/boss gets paid a proper petrol allowance. In the contract it stated that they would prefer everyone to use public transport (going green ****). It's messed up but never mind, the job pays all my bills.

1.7p/mile! They taking the proverbial?

I work for local government and get at least 40p/mile as a casual user. Might be more now.

Yes mate, they are.

A lot have quit and a few have stayed on. Works out good and bad for me, more hours, more miles... Yes something needs to be sorted, but with all the cuts, I doubt that'll happen.

If I lost the people I work with, i will quit and go else where. Until that happens ill just have to deal with the petrol thing.
