Just another Mustang:

Excuse how filthy it is I’ve been daily driving the Mustang as it’s fun in the wet slippery conditions. :D

Shelby orange gear shift fitted and some nicer Shelby mats. :)

Dash looks pretty symmetrical, wonder how hard a RHD conversion would be. :p

A 3000GT/GTO with gold wheels and pop up headlights is still on my want list.
If i was to buy another a mk1 would certainly be on the cards (you really cant beat popup headlights :D)), the mk4 would be my preference but they are pretty much unobtanium these days and the boat to buying the bits to make a mk4 has long since sailed for a car that will never realistically be worth the sum of its parts.

@Gibbo if that’s your definition of filthy then Specsavers vouchers for Christmas are in order!

Its the colour, in person there is mud flung up the sides, yeah I am a child and find rolling burnouts, donuts and drifting out of junctions fun. :D

It is like a big over weight Caterham considering it weighs in at 1680kg, but it has got 530BHP and 540lb/ft so goes OK. ;)

Not sure, but having owned and driven many left hookers, driving a road sweeper don't really bother me, always fun for passenger though. :D

I had a mk3 supra turbo and it looked amazing but the drive let it down. Not sure if the mitsubishi is any better but it's probably faster and more comfortable. Plus it looks cool.

Nice, but the front arch gap is higher than the rear! That's a punishable offense :P Please fix this ASAP :D

Thats how E30s are. The rear arch sits lower on the wheel than the front. That car is perfectly level.

Were these ones you sold back in 2020 genuine?

I don't know what point you're making but it clearly says Calibre Vintage on the ad. Other clues include the multi-PCD and I assume the price... :p

And the post is from over a month ago!

Yep :( The arch physically starts higher up, so you'll always end up with the line between the top of the front/rear arches being off, despite as you say having the sill line straight.
The only way to solve it, is with massive rake and the potential to smash your sump.

I'll never understand why so many RWD's of old did this, considering it's the rear that squats under load and not the front.
Silvia's have the same problem, that front arch begins above the swage line that runs across the whole side profile, yet the rear arch starts below it:

So why even mention it in the first place,

This has already been discussed ages ago between me and Gibbo?
TLDR, he could have gone lower if he didn't have such an aggressive offset and width of wheel, but it catches the tyres on the arches.

You clearly did not listen though!
I explained to you when car was lower, arch damage was caused whilst running the factory fitment tyres and wheels, I raised the car on that factory original setup, not because of my newer more aggressive wheel setup.

The cars stance and rake is perfect!

I’ll add a little more E30 content, car has had its final bit of welding done after a thorough inspection myself and repairing bodyshop found:

- I discovered some bubbling on scuttle panel so attacked it with a screw driver and smashed a hole through as big as I could.
- rear driver’s side metal housing had rotted but thankfully rest of rear wnd was solid, so repaired this.
- drivers footwell area was compromised so entire section was cut out and replaced.

All this welding work and plating was finished last week and as prep whilst the wings were off they were sand blasted on the inside, epoxy primered and painted, bodyshop reckons they are good solid wings and this work should see them good for at least 10 year and possibly lot longer if not driven in salt.

Had all carpets out, car up on ramps and everything is solid, what needed doing is done.

Now the welding is done the car goes back in bodyshop end of January for a full frontal respray, the current windscreen shall be removed for this and once the painting is complete a new windscreen shall be installed.

It’s been lengthy and expensive but I can now say I have a totally mint solid E30, car drives absolutely incredibly due to all mechanical work I’ve done and a revisit to dyno is due to see how much closer we are to 170HP. Made 154BHP last time but now with new valve stem seals and custom manifold the car feels stronger and sounds awesome. Oh and there was also a massive air leak on idle control valve, car was smooth but fitting a new one and car was super smooth and felt stronger again. The Amazon £60 smoke machine was a great investment.

I’ll try to hit dyno before its date with bodyshop and can then do a video of the car looking glorious and properly restored. :)

Car is now pampered living in a heated dehumidified garage and will be good weather use only.
