You happy with the quality of that Argos desk then, keogh? Mine got delivered yesterday, but it's still in a box (well, six boxes) because i haven't had the time to put it together. 'Shall get some pictures on here as soon as i do!

Are you short sighted? And I spose your pc innards are so nice you can't be bothered to use the side panel now :D

Actually, I am :p

But that isn't the reason it's quite close... I lean back in my chair so I'm about 3 feet away normally and I happened to be watching a DVD so I had it closer :)

I side panel is off being cut for a custom window...

Finally got the desk that Richierea and AccessDenied have assembled after waiting a week for a replacement the the drawers which where cut wrong and did fit together at all!

Made a few modification to it though, on the right I have the 2 door cupboard, but I didn;t put the doors on, cut 4 squares in the back and put my consoles/DVD/sky etc there.

Then there wasn't enough room under the desk for the PC (well not without me kicking it) so I removed the bottom drawers of the cabinet on the left, cut a large square in the back for my PC to breath and get the wires out (im a dab hand with a tenon saw :) ) and its all sorted.

I think I might be the only one here whos chair cost the most out of everything in this picture... it set me back £800

Looking good, I like the mods you done to the desk.

Hope you're happy with it though !

Here's what my desk is looking like so far (as you can see i'm making real progress!):

I can see this taking a while to complete.. Is it a flat pack that you have to stick together with glue and stuff?

Yeah, it's all flat packed. No glue, though, just screws and stuff as far as i can tell. Although, the base of the draws didn't seem very strong so i put some silicon on the bottom where it meets the lip just to make it a little stronger.

Looks like you're having fun, don't you sometimes wish they came complete (although with the size of this thing you would never get it in the house ;) )

Heh, if only! 'Got the corner piece together now, well... almost; all that's left is the double cupboard then i have to design where to put the thing!

Attention Argos desk owners, i have a question for you:

Does the gap between the wall and the desk, due to the skirting board, annoy anyone? I was thinking, if the cupboards, draws etc. were re-drilled, the worktop could be pushed back about 20mm to compensate for the gap. Obviously a bit of the desk over-hang would be lost, but there's enough there to do so. What do you think?
