Show Us Your XBox 360 Setup!

It wont look squished, if you can, as i asume, set the 360 to output to 4:3. 5:4 is more ideal, but 4:3 should look fine.

I just set my 2005FPW into 1:1 mode and played around with the resolutions. The results are here. 1280x1024 in normal mode, looks just as squished as in widescreen mode. I don't know if most/any 17/19" displays offer the option of displaying 1:1, so you'll probably be stuck with 1280x1024 in normal mode.

mathesar, why do you have 2 PS2's?

Bobbler, theres a CRT HDTV available around thats 32", and is about £400. I was considering it myself before i got my 26" Sammy, but a 32" CRT wouldnt fit in my room.

Doug, try the settings on your Xbox 360 rarther than the display itself.

Nice shots there mate, its not an easy task getting a camera to take pictures of a CRT. Very nice picture too.
You USA based? Dont see an awful lot of CRT HD TVs over here...

Yep im in California, I agree its not easy getting decent shots off a CRT , it actualy looks much nicer in person and I still have yet to see a current LCD that looks as good as this CRT image quality wise.

Sony still sells a variety of CRT HDTVs here and hopefully they dont stop anytime soon ;)

No it doesn't do 1:1, well i can't see any options for it, im also debating wether to just put it on my Tv, may look ok if i use the advanced SCART cable, it didn't look to bad on the lead you get with the Premium, where you have to plug the 3x phonos into the SCART block, then plug that into the Tv as i said, probably look better on the proper advanced SCART, ive got one of those 28" Widescreen Sony Trinitrons so it should'nt look to bad on there with the proper lead, i just don't fancy having to swap the VGA leads around all the time if i want to use my PC lol, so if it may look ok on my Tv with the advanced SCART then ill just do it that way. :)

Actually doesn't look to bad in normal mode on there Doug, i could'nt actually tell that the 1280x1024 normal mode was any different to the wide.

Thanks. :)

Dont worry mate, I think I know the one you mean - Samsung Slimfit thing. Its godawful though apparently.
Not looking to replace my two month old 36ZP48 just yet ;) Its just I havent seen many HD CRTs outside of the USA, they have a massive selection of HD sets out there which I seen in Best Buys and the like while on holiday in 2004 and was very impressed with them.

trouble is though, do i hook it up to my TFT on the VGA, or do i get the advanced SCART and hook it up to my 28" widescreen Tv instead, but ive gota find the leads first i suppose. :D

Ive just seen it running on that Samsung HDTV, the picture quality was ******* amazing.

Wish I could see it running on a Samsung HDTV, I'd love to compare it against my 22" CRT as I think it looks amazing on that!

the quality on the Samsung HD 42" is amazing, normal tv and sky isnt too hot though, although you do get used to it, looks damn good running dvd's through the htpc with fddshow too, and ill be moving to sky HD when they launch that in a few months, for 900 quid, it was incredibly hard to beat - now my rooms been decorated i need to buy a wall mount for it to finish it off :)

I was well impressed, i was about 60 feet away from it to, but i could see the picture quality as clear as a bell even from that distance, looked well sharp, colour clarity was perfect etc...

This is mine here :- Sony Trinitron 28" Widescreen NICAM/Surround etc...

I think it will look good on here with the proper Advanced SCART, my Sky Picture looks amazing on it. :)
