Shuttle SH67H3 Performance

change of mind guys. (again!).

Not sure what i'm going to go for yet but i want it really really small (smaller that shuttle!) but still have a decent mobo and sandy (by the time i decide, maybe a BD and a good mini itx board would be out? :P)

no problem in that, you need to find what is right for you. i would start a thread and state what you need and want. i only really know about shuttles and big fan of them. with smaller cases you may have issues with psu's and gcards if you want it for gaming. but im not the person to ask about that!

Basically got a cubit 3 from mm for my brother. was perfect for his needs but things have changed! I'm now left with it and other than the colour it's rather nice.

i'd like to game and given it can only fit a single slot gfx card (albeit a very short one.. 7" max or so).. i'm going to struggle. Maybe the upcoming 28nm cards might save me here.

Might start a thread but am thinking of modding it to take an SFX psu. I'm not a very good modder i don't think and i don't really want to shell out too much money for the tools either... tough situation for someone on a tight budget like me :P

I think my only problem is putting together a custom back panel for the case... any ideas?

edit: didn't mean to hijack this thread. going to start one in the generals section. thanks!

Can anyone give there opinion on how quiet the H3/H7 case is? In particular, the power supply?

For now, It will just have an I3 inside, 4gb of memory and a couple of hard drives. It will be sat next to my TV in the living room and used to play my music and movies and browse the internet.

I would appreciate any opinions as I need to avoid excess noise if I can.

Thank you Simon. Thats good to know.

This HTPC business is a minefield. From originally looking at the Acer Revo, to now looking at something with potential to be more powerful than my main rig. :D

I just have to keep the noise in check.

I just have to keep the noise in check.

I tried a REVO and found it was just too slow for playing blu-rays.
I have to say that the SH67Hx is a world away from the Revo, really a fundamentally different type of machine.

the Shuttle is much bigger, of course. It will use more power, but is much more powerful.

Have a very similar machine myself. and very interested in this new bios.

Shuttle SH67H3
Intel i7 2600K
16GB corsair ram
Vertex 2 60GB SSD Boot
1TB normal SATA 3 Hard drive
BluRay burner

try the shuttle psu calculator. Ivy bridge mobo's is unlikey at this stage, however im sure shuttle will bring out a shuttle model

^^

nice i just built a full gaming PC and sold my beloved shuttle, first time i have been without one as a main rig, i just wannted to be able to overclock and get some more cooling in for my 570GTX. i still have a shuttle for my TV downstairs and will be back on one again no doubt. gonna check out that Sz77r5 now.
