Results should be stored in the ProgramFilesx86>Steam>>SteamApps>Common>CIV folder.
The only thing there that could be it is a file called lategameview but how you open it I don't know.

Can someone confirm what stage of the game does the benchmark test??
Is it a late game benchmarks after 100s of turns on a large map??

Looks like a CSV file, but I've no idea how to interpret the data and turn it into useful informaiton
Edit: bit more digging, and it is definitely a CSV file that is output. What you write in the the launch options after "-benchmark" is the name of the output file.
Edit 2: more digging...the data in each cell is frame time. Use the formula "1000 / Average (All Frame Times) = Avg FPS" to convert the frame times into an average FPS It will only give you a mean result, you won't see highs & lows without further analysing the data

OK...my benchmark test drew 4663 frames. The total frametime was 50019.61 (ms, I presume), and therefore the average was 10.72692ms / frame.
1000 / 10.72692 = 93.22345 FPS.
If the benchmark ALWAYS draws 4663 frames then it's simple to work out.
use the launch options:
-benchmark lategameview.csv (so it will automatically open in Excel or Google docs, then add up the total time take in line 1, and apply the following formula
=1000/*SUM OF LINE 1*
There's your FPS
If someone can verify that the test always draws 4663 frames then there's your formula
Update, I ran it again and this time it drew 4662 frames. I would therefore postulate that the number of frames drawn is a function of the frame time, and therefore variable dependent upon performance.
SO...the formula is:
=1000 / ("*SUM OF FRAME TIME* / "NO. OF FRAMES*)
My two results were:
Result 1:
=1000/(50003.05/4662)
=93.23 FPS
Result 2:
=1000/(50019.61/4663)
=93.22 FPS
UPDATE 2
AND...the cross check. I OC'd the GPU to maximum and almost 1000 additional frames were drawn BUT, the benchmark is always 50 seconds long. SOOOOOOO...you only need to know how many frames were drawn.
Result 3 (OC'd GPU):
=1000/(50004.84/5597)
=111.93 FPS
To calculate your FPS in the benchmark you need to know how many frames were drawn. You can work this out in Excel by simply dragging a frame count number to increment it until you get to the end of the run.
The formula is:
=1000/(50000/*NUMBER OF FRAMES DRAWN*)

It takes only 1 minute in Excel to translate the total frame-count into frames per second.
It is also very easy to create a frame-time graph from the benchmark data.
The increase in frame-time (reduction in FPS) occurs when the benchmark zooms right out for a short time,

Not had the chance to have a go yet! Quickly installed it this morning and had a play about with interpreting the benchmarks but I had to go out for meetings. Not long home so will probably have a play tonight.
It's not Alpha Centauri, I'll say that much...
It was never pretending to be as the developers said

Well the benchmark seems to work for the demo 
And using Havana's formula there mine comes out at 103.6fps for 1440p (970 sli) at max settings. Strange having no nice output window...

Hasn't it been said many times that average fps only tells you so much, minimum fps are also very important.
Also, as it happens, isn't that what Mantle usually helps out a lot in?

I've now got min & max FPS for my previous run
Min: 34 FPS
Max: 296 FPS
Avg: 112 FPS
To get frame-by-frame FPS, use the calculation:
1000/*frame time"
Then sort the data on rows (left to right) smallest to largest
Just did a quick check and out of the 5597 frames rendered in my bench run, only 420 were below 60 FPS (or 9.3%)
492 frames were above 120 FPS (or 8.8%)
Min: 34 FPS
Max: 296 FPS
Avg: 112 FPS
To get frame-by-frame FPS, use the calculation:
