Could have been a victim of house fraud. My card details were used to order £2,800 worth of camera equipment as well as other items a while back. According to the camera shop, it was delivered by Fedex and signed for under my name at my address even though I was 125 miles away at the time! I had to give a statement to the police on the phone which turned out to be a bit of an interview. I was asked a few odd questions in an attempt to throw me just in case I had signed for and kept it but the investigator believed me in the end. Apparently she gets around 4 cases of house fraud every day but then again some parts of my borough are a bit dodgy.
