Adding as in how they added to the original GameCube RE remake. That was done very well.
I have played the original many times. Actually, our chat got me to go buy the OG RE games bundle from GOG for £8.50. I usually stick to steam, but you have to respect GOG for making the effort to get these games to work on modern systems. I also just downloaded the offline files so can install it when i want without even needing the GOG launcher.
Anyway, there is a mod called RE: Enhanced where the modder used AI to make improvements. Looks good. I played the Seamless mod in the past which was also good.
I have probably completed the OG RE2 a dozen times over the years. As much as I enjoyed the RE2 Remake, ultimately I was actually disappointed. They needed to do more. I have spoken about it here a few times now in more detail.
I just noticed this is a Silent Hill thread. But RE has always been a lot more interesting to me than SH ever was.
Ah, I had the GC version, but never played it, as it was
just the PS1 version, or so I thought. What did they change then? I assumed it was multi controller layouts, at best?
I did spy said GOG pack and have heard about RE: Enhanced
Yeah RE > SH for gameplay, but SH > RE for 'seriousness' of a plot - until they go and spoil it and troll you with 4 out of 5 **** endings - then you have to blindly look up how to actually get the good ending, which is a contrived load of ********, so thus it never happens and you just look it up on YT

and usually don't replay the game again
However SH2R, I have replayed a twice, thanks to NG+ and the chainsaw - I do believe that was my GOTY, the plot was so much more 'serious' and 'adult' than any RE game, that I've ever played.
Imagine if RE could provide
that level of seriousness, and genuine terror/fear/disturbia -
one day, maybe
RE3 was my favourite of the PS1 era games, although the majority tend to prefer RE2, Nemesis was by far the most interesting and genuinely intimidating bosses in the series in my mind and they flopped hard in translating that to current times.
Given how good of a job they did with RE2R, it just made it even more of a kick in the knackers when they half arsed RE3R to the extent they did. The only saving grace it has for me is the fact it can be had for a fiver, not a terrible buy at that price but for those that jumped in at launch it was a bit of a slap in the face imo.
Hopefully future remakes get the same treatment that 2 and 4 did, still desperately hoping for a properly done Code Veronica update which is easily my favourite game in the franchise.
I loved RE3, but RE2 was the first one that I played, and it was bigger, multiple characters, and leeps and bounds more polished than 1.
RE3 was awesome because of the variety, as it took place in many locations.
Actually being able to gun down Nemesis at the multiple jumpscare parts, was so satisfying, as was wondering where you'd end up, if you choose to jump over a bridge or whatever versus face him
Yeah, I get that, but for me, I bought it on launch, and knew the original was short and sweet, thus I knew that it could never compare to RE2R, and was always short with barely any extra content after completion, so just took it as a nice bonus DLC to RE2R, whilst I prayed that we'd get a RE4R, and we did, eventually
CVX, is one of my all time favourites, I replayed it recently, upscaled to 4K etc, and it was glorious, and you probably know, it's the original intended RE3, but we wont go into that.
I swear they did confirm awhile ago, that we
were getting a CVX remake?
I want that more than I need another 1R.
