Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

That is either a lot of beans, or something more interesting which I'm sure you'll elaborate on :).

It's just beans :)

I have a few friends in work that also order so we often combine. This is a particularly large order as the University closes for a fair while over Christmas.

I've got 1KG of Red Tail Brazilian Mogiana beans to tide me over Xmas & the New Year (& probably a fair chunk of that new year too)

Got 20% off, Paid £13.50 Inc Delivery which I thought was good value. :)

Finally made the upgrade to the machine I've been after for some time, it's a nice upgrade, still trying to get used to it especially the steaming power!

Chemex and Gaggia Classic at home, which will be replaced in 2016 I feel. It's due an upgrade.

I'm also strongly considering replacing my Classic. The main reason is to not have the annoyance when making two drinks in a row though... so it'd actually be cheaper to just buy a second Classic :s

Not sure what to get yet, Rancillo silvia rocky is the obvious choice but I'm not sure if that's a enough improvement to warrant the upgrade.

Indeed - I think it'll cost quite a lot to get an improvement in espresso quality (and to be honest I'm pretty happy with what I've got in terms of effort vs output).

I already have a fairly decent grinder so I don't think that would be for me :)

Eye-watering amounts of money really....especially when it's a war between my coffee obsession, kitchen gadgets and cycling stuff

£200? Pah. That GS3 aMb has just bought goes for over £5k, and the E10 he has with it another £1.2k :p

That's not far off how much I spent on my car :o

Well bung the classic on the MM when you're done with it, I may be interested at the right price. ;)

pretty sure we wouldn't be allowed to list them, although could you argue a PID is a computer?

FS: one control loop feedback mechanism with attached caffeine extraction apparatus

New house and kitchen in the new year so may be able to justify an upgrade, but i'm not using the classic enough to justify it... (plus it needs fixing first, still)

My Classic is completely stock and one of the older model with the physical mechanical switch, aluminium boiler.
