Lets see some pics Raymond please hehe

Also anyone want to reccomend some beans for an order from hasbean.

I've tried espresso and premium espresso blends so far so something else would be good.

Bolivia Machacamarca
Brazil Cachoeira Canario
Costa Rican El Portillo CoE
Kenya Gethumbwini Peaberry
Guatemala Finca San Francisco Tecuamburro
Yemen Mokha Matrar
Has Bean Decaf Espresso Blend (for the late night)
Brazil Fazenda Cachoeira Bourbon
Has Bean premium Espresso Blend
Australian Skyberry

Out of those I like Brazil Fazenda Cachoeira Bourbon, Bolivia Machacamarca & Australian Skyberry best.

And here is your pic :)

I am trying to keep it as clean as I can, back flush now and again, wipe down everytime after i use it, wipe down shower head, did everything except used the internal cleaner thing. I live in a virtually limescale free area so it seems okay, even the tank looks very clear.

Sid, thanks, I hope to take more pics soon :)

Sweet, Well if you do notice it going make sure you get some puly caff and a blank filter basket.

Wish I lived in a near lime scale free area! Literally we have to replace the taps / kettle etc every year!

Ditto. Had to replace the power shower 4 times in 6 years. :(

However, I use the Tesco mountain spring water in my machine. Dry residue is very low with it *80mg iirc* - so I now have to clean my machine once every couple of months rather than every week. Yay!

El Salvador Finca La Fany Bourbon - last year's crop was better, but this is also lovely.

I'm just about to break into a bag of Nicaragua Limoncillo, because someone earlier mentioned it :)

since we're sharing photos of rigs ;)

Miss Silvia is on a chopping board so I can get the big milk jug underneath the steam wand.

ooh - and the picture is one a friend did for me when my old Gaggia was having problems and was in the repair place for several weeks.

What's the deal with descaling these then? I've just been using tap water in my Classic and it's been fine, despite in quite a hard water area. What I do notice is after a few days the water in the container has like a thin greasy scum floating on it which is a bit unpleasant. What's that? I wondered if it was something leaching out the plastic.

Just ordered myself some El Salvador Finca La Fany Bourbon and some Nicaragua Limoncillo :).

I always use filtered water in my machine, but I guess I should give it a clean.

Domestic Gaggias have aluminium boilers, so you need to be careful what descaler you use. Citric acid descalers can rot the boiler. (which is partly why I got the Silvia - brass boiler)

re the water - I have no idea but it sounds similar to something that I get on my plastic draining board if I don't wipe it down constantly. I've never worked out what it is! Mind, I've never noticed any crud in my Silvia tank at all.

I've always used filtered water, got a brita maxtra which seems to make a difference.
