I’m using a iridescent shower screen already.
I don't understand why on this corner, every single time there is this tear. Why that corner and not all 4 corners?

Grind looks a little coarse for espresso?
yes i get perspective - but the total area of the holes in the new plate , must be 20% of what it used to be, so jets will have 5x the pressure, and have a bigger chance to mine holes in the puck surface.
as i commented - because its hotter, at the back nearer the boiler - a temperature gradiant, so hotter water/steam.I know, but why just 1 corner?
Yep - the remaining grounds are the fibre that made up the coffee bean itself. In your cup were the oils, caffeine and other flavoursome bits.Out of interest, for those using an AeroPress....
Is it expected that there will be coffee grounds left over in the chamber after the process is complete? I am just used to instant coffee disappearing with the water lol so having to dispose of the coffee grounds is a new thing for me!
* Side note, is it possible to re use these coffee grounds again or is it a one time use thing.
I think im going pick up a metal filter also as the paper ones get a bit finicky.

Instant coffee is basically where they made coffee just like you did, and then dry that out. So it disappears because it's actually just the contents of normally made coffee (drink). The grounds were already discarded as waste during that process.
All fresh coffee making methods leave waste grounds, from espresso machines to pour over to drip filters like in American diners.
You can't really reuse the grounds as the vast majority of tasty stuff has already been extracted the first time. You would hope![]()
Cheers both, that makes a lot of sense. Will just try throw it on as compost!Coffee Ground makes great compost, I just throw it in the tomatoes bed.
Yep, just done that and all good. Just had to peel the paper filter off before I did the plunge. The aeropress is designed so that after pressing you should be able to take off the black cap and use the plunger to push the puck and filter out directly into the bin, so much tidier than eg a french press.
