Silverstone F1, first time!

friday is good day to go since nothing realy important happonds but you get to see the cars at full chat, also the silverstone stafe may let you into some of the better grandstands. (buy a roving grandstand ticket just to be on the safeside)

ok, campsites open on wedsnday morning at 7am, so me and the old man are going down to silverstone in the evening........:) set up camp, get used to the rootine ect......also it will be intresting to see the teams set up the garage's and often they have a walk round the track, the bbc dose its little build up as well. :)

Someone remind me of the ticket prices so I know why I don't go?

There aren't many to choose from now, but generally an adult for the three days in a grandstand is £250 ish. Not that bad in my opinion. The accommodation is the tricky bit, which is why a lot of people camp which is cheap.

GA is £150, Grandstands start at about £250. For 3 days of motorsport including 4 hours of F1 practice, 1 hour of Qualifying and 1.5 hours racing, plus a similar amount of track time for each of the support series, which includes 2 races for GP2, a race (maybe 2) for GP3, Usually some other formula series and a a couple of Porsche Supercup races.

Compare that to how much for 90 minutes of Cup Final football? F1 isn't expensive.

What's the deal with parking on Friday? I have a three day pass with park and ride on Saturday and Sunday. I'm assuming Friday you can park at the circuit?

The last time I went Friday parking was free at the circuit for everyone, and Saturday and Sunday you either had a park and ride, or paid to park on track.
