Silverstone F1 tickets?

Get there early. Wonder round (anti-clockwise so that the cars come towards you) and check out the circuit from everywhere but where you'll be sitting come qualifying/race.

Take some food and drink, unless you fancy paying £8 for a poor excuse for a burger.

Food in Silverstone Village is quite nice but, expensive.

Luffield B tickets booked :):):)

I agree TomWilko, I hope they get the Arena circuit sorted so I can go into the grandstand there Friday and Saturday. The only issue I can think of is they have previously had the entire infield for hospitality and things. The Arena circuit cuts right into that, so Im expecting them to keep hold of some space by making the Grandstands on the inside of the area corner Hospitality only so us commoners can get in :(

Going to book Luffield B as well very soon :) We have decided to camp after all, either at the circuit or there is a golf club nearby with good facilities too which is closer to the circuit itself.

OMG OCUK Mini meet!

Im doing camping f1 again as they provide cooked food, tent, lilo and a bar for a fixed price. Altho I dont know for sure if they are next to circuit..

I used them at spa last year and they were great.

I'll be interested to see what they do about the hospitality, but hopefully at least part of it will be accessible.

Biggest disappointment this year for me is the price of parking on site. I am not willing to pay £35 so going to give the park and ride from Northamption a go.

Always been that much.

You can thank Uncle Bernie for that.

Me, I'm going to spend £200 on a ticket to Le Mans, which includes travel and pocket money for some food and drink.

Gold grandstand at Spa was nearly £500 last year...

F1 has always been this much. Atleast one of my family members has been to F1 as General Admision for the last 7 years, its always been £150 at Silverstone, and around that at Spa. £290 for Platinum Grandstand is what I was expecting to pay.

Silverstone is in no way the exception with those prices. Its probubly at the cheaper end of the scale.

Silverstone has never been £150 for GA. Unless the person you know has been purchasing their tickets from a different outfit, rather than directly from the horse's mouth.

Nor has Spa. I paid £80 for a GA ticket just two years ago.

?

Directly from Silverstone each time, 3 day General Admission. Havent been to Silverstone for 2 years but was £150 a pop when I did the 3 years before that. Looking online now there £130 this year.

And Spa is more complicated due to the exchange rate, but I have my Spa ticket infront of me and it was 130 Euros last year, plus 12 Euros booking fee and 25 Euros shipping... witch made an easy £150.

And I was in Spa 2 years ago too, exactly the same price.

Bottom line F1 has never been cheap, but then it is the top of global motorsport, so why should it be?

I went with the missus last year and it was my first ever grand prix. Going to go this year as well and might do the same thing (general admission tickets on just the race day)...

In 2008 it tipped it down, 2009 wasn't too bad at all though, quite cold in the morning but in the afternoon the sun came out and it was carnival weather... Really contrasting morning and afternoon...

I did get slightly sunburnt even though it was cloudy for the whole morning...

We brought a couple of comfy deck chairs with us and sat at the Maggots/Becketts complex. Loads of people there but we got through the gates at around 6am so we got a seat near the front.

Was an awesome day, tickets are expensive though, don't think I'd wanna spend on the more expensive grandstand seats.

One of the advantages of general admission is that you can sit virtually anywhere around the circuit and get a lot closer to the cars. There's one part of the track after Copse where the spectators are literally 10 meters away from the car. Insane :o :p

You will get sunburnt at Silverstone regarless... Its random, but true.

And grandstand seats allow you to walk all the general admission areas too, and also get free roam of any grandstands Fri and Sat and designated (i.e. not having to arrive at 6am) seats on Sunday :)

Just booked 2 tickets at Luffied A (B was sold out). Quite excited now :) The last time I went I got free tickets from work at the pit straight as work sponsored Jordan.

Do they still do the local radio broadcast for commentary? I might have to lay my hands on a couple of pocket radios so I dont end up paying their inflated prices again.

Yup we are going to get one or two of the Kangaroo sets. They didn't have them available to book when getting the Silverstone tickets so will have to check again soon.

Can you get the Kangaroo sets just for the day? I suppose it will probably be the same price as a weekend but I'm only going for the day. Might just take a pocket radio.
