Silverstone F1 tickets?

1st time going - g.a. anyone know if beer is OK to take in. terms and conditions say you may be refused entry if you have alcohol....but do they actually enforce that? ta. Also, does anyone know if we will actually be able to stand in the arena complex - none of the maps show it as ga round there? ta vm

Wasn't a problem at the Le Mans Series last year, and at £scary per pint it's certainly an idea! Might be different for the F1 though.

I was there last year with a mate and we just took our beer in a rucksack. There were a lot of people around the grounds drinking their own beer so it shouldn't be a problem....
If they really don't like people bringing their own beer this year you'll just have to down them all at the entrance :D

Our campsite says no glass bottles but we will be definitely taking cans - they can't enforce it for campers so can't see how they'd be able to stop general admission bringing it in.

Can any one post details on the M40 Park and ride please? Where it is, postcode, times for buses etc?

Royal Mail have sent my tickets back to Silverstone because apparently they left a note and I never collected them, the lying pack of *****. I rang Silverstone almost every day last week and each day I was told they will be with you tomorrow. Finally today I managed to get it out of them that my tickets have been sent back to them.

I now have no details on the park and ride and will have to pick my tickets up on the day.

Thanks frakker!

They said I could head up from Thursday onwards to get them which I'm tempted to do because as you said the whole morning is going to be a complete pain in the arse without my tickets. How busy will Friday be? Thursday better?

Must say even though it was Royail Mail who didn't deliver the tickets Silverstone have been utterly useless. So far I've spent £6 on a delivery charge which I never received, a £6 phone bill for calling them over 5 times trying to get it sorted out and now going to have to drive to Silverstone twice, oh and I've paid £500 for the privilege. I'm sure when I get there it will be worth it. :p

I went to the last 2 Renault World Series at SS and we took cooler boxes full of beer and food, no problems at all.

I actually can't sit down today, or focus - too excited!

Campers - we have a green tent and green Galant (ooh co-ordinated!) come and say hi!

We're sitting in Woodcote B - K56 and K57!

Been to Silverstone this morning to get my tickets. I had a major panic on when the ticket collection place told me they couldn't find my tickets. Got there in the end.

I got no apology or explanation why my tickets had been totally messed up. They are refunding me the £6 postage though.

Seriously, you'll need to get in the queue from 4am onwards if you want to stake your claim and have a half-decent viewing position! Take some fold up chairs along.

Before the main event, they'll most likely have Formula BMW, GP3, GP2 and Porsche Cup races. Then the drivers' parade.

rubbish. I went last year with GA tickets and got there for 6am... found some quality spots to sit at Becketts/Maggots complex... getting there at 4am lol - never heard of anything so daft. We WOKE UP at 4am and drove from north Leicestershire :D
