Silverstone F1 tickets?

Need to pre-book. In other words: it's too late to sort something out, unless you go on fleBay or whatever.

Car parking at £35 is an absolute con. Was free for the MotoGP!

Arse  Tickets were a present for me +1 & have only just thought about parking.

Looking on the Silverstone site it states P&R is sold out but can't see any mention of circuit parking booking?

Looking about it seems the only other options are:

http://www.parkerscarparks.co.uk/index.html

Anyone used either of these or can recommend any other options please?

I expect there are a few places like that School selling spaces on the weekend. When I went to Race of Champions in Wembley they had a few industrial units selling spaces, so expect there are a few houses and companies nearby doing that too.

Have got it sorted via the Silverstone Schools place above.

Recommended on PH & its only a few minutes walk from the circuit so should be fine.

Cheers all.

ha i went to the ROC at wembley are parked outside an industrial unit for £10, seemed a bit dodgy when we came back no signs or people about lol

Birmingham to Silverstone is about the same time/distance as Nottingham to Silverstone (where I am from). I have grandstand seats and have been 4 or 5 times. If you are parking at the circuit you want to be getting to Silverstone for 8am with the knowledge you won't be in the circuit until 9am. Trust me, set off very early! Traffic is rammed from about 7.30am onwards.

I'm picking her up from Leicester now which is kinda nearer I suppose. If I have to get there for 8am then bloody hell I need to go early! I really don't know if I can be arsed to get there that early, I suppose I'll miss out on some of the earlier stuff but I'm more interested in the main race. As long as I don't miss the main stuff which means I'll need to be there for 11am I'll be happy. I reckon setting off just before 8am should get me there for then, I hope so anyway! What time are you gonna set off from if you don't mind me asking.

Anyone else noticed the Timetable printed on the back of the tickets packaging is totally different to the timetable on the Silverstone website...?

Wait, what's this about pre-booking parking?

I've been given tickets for the qualifying. I live about 30 mins from the track so was going to drive over, but how does this parking thing work? Do you not get it included with your ticket? Or just turn up and get put in a big field?

Its been a long time since I've gone to Silverstone, and not exactly sure on my tickets, but I have seating at copse.

When we have parked at the circuit in previous years we would set off at about 6.30. This year we are going via park and ride so it will probably be more like 6.00, get to Northampton for 7.00 and take it from there.

My platinum tickets came through today. Does anyone know if were allowed to bring video/SLR cameras?

Cannot wait :)

Id like to see them try to stop 125,000 people taking photos!

Regardless of wether there is or isnt any rules, everyone and his dog will have cameras with lenses the size of my..... leg!

I think the FIA and FOM only have issues with videos being 'broadcast', which includes posting online. Hence Youtube vids are constantly taken down. Photos is fine.

beer?!?

1st time going - g.a. anyone know if beer is OK to take in. terms and conditions say you may be refused entry if you have alcohol....but do they actually enforce that? ta. Also, does anyone know if we will actually be able to stand in the arena complex - none of the maps show it as ga round there? ta vm

Just throw a load of beers in your bag mate i dont think they will check ... Ive never been to the F1 but normally visit there 5 or 6 times a year for other events and have never had an issue

If you don't mind me asking when setting off that early what time did you usually get to your seats?

The last time we went we missed the first part of the first race as our seats were on the opposite side of the circuit to where we arrived. So I would say you'd get in about 9.00 - 9.30am.

You can bring whatever camera you want but I'd suggest not bothering with anything like SLRs or big lenses on Sunday especially. You are there to enjoy the racing and it is literally rammed full :) Even the general admission areas are 4 - 5 people deep in places.

Photos for the Friday, I am taking the SLR + lenses on Saturday but not expecting to get much use/opportunity.

Havent been to Silverstone for F1 for 3 years, but last time I went some blokes next to us turned up with sack trucks with 5 crates of Fosters on it... so they definately didnt worry about alcohol then. I dont know if they have changed the rules however.

And I was at the Arena Complex for some GT racing earlier this year. I dont think there will be any GA access there unfortunatly. The only place you can spectate from has got grandstands on it. You might be able to go further down towards Abbey and get a view. If your going friday, take a wander about and have a look.
