Silverstone ft02

I would imagine that PSU's that use flat modular cables would come in handy for a build inside an FT02, the Corsair HX series comes to mind.

The flat Corsair HX PSU cables are useful as there's very little room to get pass the main Motherboard & Video card power cables.
But then I only have a one Hard drive installed & no DVD drive, backup hard drive is a wireless network one.
But what is a pain is the first power plug on the longest cable from the PSU to power the SATA drives, is just that little bit to short & it can not be used it just reaches the Hard drive bays.

With regard to this PSU support thing, I installed mine slightly differently - the easiest way, I think, to explain how is a 90° anti-clockwise rotation from how garsands has shown how his is installed - such that the triangular bit is acting as a shelf. My photo on pg 5 just about shows what I mean.

As far as flat cables go, though they may help slightly, flat cables aren't the saviour - the issue, at least what I'm seeing (HX750), is more to do with the connectors on them as opposed to a huge mass of wire. I intend to take some connectors off the cables to alleviate the issue of space behind the motherboard tray.

Overall though, I'm chuffed to bits with it.

I already have the res but i'm not sure if it will fit in this case since it uses a toolless design.

I'm not sure if there is anything that will block it like a little notch or something.

does the seasonic x650 hav flat cables or just the corsair? love this case look but its exp for what it is.

I've just replaced a Corsair HX750 in my Silverstone FT02 due to electrical whine with a Seasonic X750. The cables are not flat but with a bit of careful cable management I was easily able to replace the Corsair with the small amount of room between the door and motherboard tray for cables.

Each drive bay has little tabs for a drive to sit on.
Does the res have flat sides that might be a problem?

Forgot I asked this question, do you mean that you can only fit devices that use up a single 5.25" bay and not dual.

I've already ordered the case now, should have made sure this res would fit first... will be fitting a 240mm radiator in the bottom as well.

Thats right, the tabs will only allow single bay items to fit, I had a look at mine though and it would be quite easy just to bend the tabs between 2 of the bays with no problem.
I know it's not nice after you've paid nearly £200 for the case but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt too much :P

I too would have liked to fit a rad in the bottom at some point and you should be fine as long as you don't have a super long card like the 5970.

My wires from my psu are round but I had no problem with fitting most of them behind the motherbord tray and the side panel goes back on fine. The only cables around the front are the PCIE ones as they weren't quite long enough to reach around the back with my gfx card where it is.

Just tried to fit the dual bay res and it doesn't since it has a tiny lip around the front that will not sit flush so i guess it's back to air for me.

Got my stuff fitted into this now and hard drive temps have gone up by 10 degrees, wasn't expecting that!.

How many drives?

I've only got one HDD (SSD is stuck round the 'back' on the adaptor), a 1TB Samsung F3, and that's sat in the bay closest to the front of the case at 31°C according to the SMART data which is a slight reduction, 5°C (if that), from what it was in my previous case.

I'm also only using the 180mm fans on low.

Got rid of the water in the end

I've got 3 hard drives and 1 ssd, temps are now 25,36,39 one has went up 5 degrees and one by around ten... i've taken the filter out of that fan and it's dropped a few degrees.

Have to say the cable management was a total nightmare with this case but apart from that im happy.
