I really really like the idea of SC4 and I have tried to play it on so many occasions. I even bought it again when it was on a Steam sale. Regardless of how many times that I have tried to play this game I utterly fail in an often spectacular way.
After forgetting the pain of failing so often I then tend to find a thread like this which often gets me intrigued enough to install the game again, and then repeating the failure process.
who knows I might even read that posted guide
Is there any advantage in applying mods to improve the playability of the game, like the ones which alter the road and rail networks.....?
edit: Tried the "-CPUCount:1 -Introff -w -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32" and it looks good but my taskbar (Win 7x64) is always on top, I don't really want to auto hide the taskbar just for this game. Even missing out the w (Window) doesn't help, I am running at 1920x1080.
EDIT:
I solved this by editing the launch options under Steam to...
-f -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080
the f meaning fullscreen.
