****SIMS 3****

Lost 1hr today whilst playing this. I just lost track of the habit that I should save every 10mins as that was working well for me. I got carried away with the gameplay and an hour had passed by. I realised my error and tried to save and bang - a CTD.

This is one game I just don't feel comfortable even playing because I know that:
1. It can and will most likely CTD without warning.
2. Will CTD during a save operation.
3. Will corrupt your savegame during a save operation resulting in an 'infinate save session'.

I just can't flippin win :(

Everytime I start to really get into a game I get a frikkin CTD :( It feels like I'm losing my faith in gaming on PC, seems like so many games are released buggy piles of **** these days :(

^Hear, hear. Stuff like this is why I left pc gaming and shifted over to the 360 years ago. Gradually I have been returning to the PC scene since the 360 has had very little since GTA IV that has grabbed my attention. This has to be one of the buggiest titles I've seen since SiN years ago.

what OS are you using? are the graphics card drivers upto date etc?
as ive already said it runs flawlessly for me, it hasnt froze/crashed at all in the 6 or so hours that ive played it

Nothing unusual about my rig. I've been lurking on the EA forums for the game and people with all kinds of rigs and os's are having issues. At first there was a pattern, namely ATI owners were complaining but then that was quickly dismissed as there are NV issues too.

I've got Vista x64 on this rig too, but just can't be bothered to go through the hassle of installing the game on that too.

Not had a single problem with it, the Sims 2 used to have a fit if i alt tabbed out, Sims 3 seems fine.

Not a single crash, and it looks stunning.

Kids are using this on a HP7100SFF with an 8400gs. My eldest installed it and none of my three kids have reported any problems. It keeps em' quiet :)

couple of pics of a house im working on, really loving the amount of customisation that is available on the sims 3

^A lot of people play it for that very reason :p

Fyi people the house editor in the game seems to be almost ripped out of Ultima Online's house editor. Its been heavily tweaked but they are very, very similar and both titles are EA owned too.

Loving the house Sunlitsix. Huge plot too! My house is in town limits so its a smallish plot with just a ground floor. Not sure if its possible to add additional floors yet.

Collecting gems, insects, what?
As you are walking round the town you can find things on the floor and pick them up. Seeds you can plant, Gems and rocks you can have made into jewelley I think. I so far have found Diamonds, Silver, Gold, Tanzanite, Smokey Quartz etc. If you find butterflies, ladybirds, beetles you can catch them and you get rewards for collecting different types. Theres also the fishing, different fish provide different meals... im enjoying it anyway lol!

UO house editor came after The Sims 1.

At the time I thought that they'd cribbed it from the Sims, it was that simillar.

im after a bit og help here, my sim got engaged and now when i invite the woman over she says yes, then no because something has come up, this has been happening for ages now, how do i break the engagement, i know on sims 2 you could do break up but i dont even know if that is a option as i cant get her to come over, also i cant find her house on the map.
