9/10? Def trolling

As Singapore goes out was good. But always a dull race. Cut the laps by 10 at least. Had it on in the background.
At least there was a bit of excitement in this one. As usual you need to much overspeed and drs to overtake here

Rosberg did well. Riccardo gave us some entertainment. He's such a decent bloke would like to see him fighting for the wdc. Def my favourite driver.

6/10 for me. As a race it was lower. But for Singapore higher so went for 6.

Love the 3 tyre rule. Always wanted it in before

I found Brundle's comment about the removal of launch control interesting. He said something along the lines of poor starts from drivers has deprived us of good battles/races...

Gave the race a 6 too

Dull as stale dishwater until Lewis started a chain reaction of an extra pitstop at the front, besides Nicola. It was building nicely, Ricci Lake was hauling Nicola back in at ~2.5 seconds a lap, but ~6 laps from the end he lost momentum.

At the time, I thought some backmarkers then halted his rapid progress at a crucial time (plus Nicola turned up the dials to 11), denying us the spectacle of at least one overtake challenge on Nicola and instead resulting in him finishing ~1 second behind. :(

A generous 4, due to the promise of a grand finale that never quite happened.

Ricciardo wasn't really catching Rosberg. It was just Rosberg managing his tyres and brakes once Ricciardo's tyres went off. "Always win at the slowest possible pace" and all that. Ricciardo caught Rosberg, but only because Rosberg took it easy on the final lap.

The penalty wasn't for overtaking, it was for failing to slow sufficiently, hence the inconsistency with Rosberg in the earlier race.

And Charlie said immediately after Rosberg did it that it wouldn't be allowed to happen again, which is why Perez was punished.

It's only inconsistent if you ignore the change in the rules.

That said, Charlie also said he'd throw an immediate red flag and that's yet to happen.

Charlie's comments just show that the stewards had no idea what they were doing. If the stewards need guidance or clarification on how to deal with such a basic issue of safety then it just reinforces my view that they have no clue what they're doing or to what rulebook they're working.

Lewis' consternation after the Rosberg incident was totally justified. Everyone in F1 has always understood double-waved yellows to mean "slow down significantly and be prepared to stop". Rosberg did neither of those yet escaped punishment. It doesn't get much more clear-cut than that. The stewards were idiots.

Nope, he had two penalties, not just the one.

http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2016/09/17/perez-given-eight-place-penalty-yellow-flag-infringements/

The Force India driver received a five-place penalty for failing to slow sufficiently for double waved yellow flags and a further three-place penalty for overtaking under yellow flags.

gave it a 5, the ending looked to be good but it needed just 1 more lap, Ricci lost a lot more time through them back markers than Rosberg did which eventually cost him.

Interesting race!

I give up with the stewards though, they're a bunch of utter morons.

How on earth was that not an unsafe release? He came within inches of hitting a mechanic solely because he was released too early and ended up racing alongside another car. Safety should be the stewards' primary concern and they failed utterly.

You need to re-watch the release. The mechanic didn't go to move the airlines until after bottas was let out, and the mechanic was clearly not paying attention as he went to the live side of the air lines to move them!

Had the mechanic been there at the time of release bottas wouldn't have been released or would have got a penalty. Had the mechanic been paying attention he would have move the airlines from the pit box side, not the pit lane side.

All of this is why there was no further action warranted. Solid call by the stewards.

The interesting point to raise from this is what punishment should the mechanic get for not paying attention and putting himself and a driver in danger.

Scored the race 3/10. I scored it as high as three simply for those exciting edge of the seat laps between Kvyat & Verstappen. That is what F1 should be like and what they should be aiming for in the future. Some folks say that the Singapore track is boring, I think the entire championship is boring and has been for some years.

Well done to Rosberg. It was another master class performance right from qualifying to the fantastic start to the race. A big disappointment for me was Seb starting from the rear, would have loved to seen him fight it out at the front. The three wheeled Ferrari robbed us from a great race and maybe a different top three. Hamilton was not fast enough and yes he had technical issues which is what will decide the championship. Kimi yet again never fails, he knows how to bring home a bucket of points. I am sure Red Bull must be raging. I personally thought they played the perfect strategy and where cutting into Rosbergs lead by seconds per lap, but it was a waste of time because Mercedes put that one to bed by turning up the engine. Yet another indication of how big of an advantage the Mercs have. Three in a row for Nico and still using the same engines. Should be extra points for that.

Seeing Toto celebrating Hamilton getting past Kimi and then hearing the panicked radio message to Rosberg made me chuckle. It was like Massa 08 all over again!

Terrible race with a very anti climatic ending. Laps 45-55 were awesome as it looked like we were going to be in for a treat but it wasn't meant to be.

4/10 for me.
