I am not questioning your (or Gibbo's) numbers, but something is definately not right with these sort of results. I cannot see why 3 cards would scale significantly better than 2 cards unless there is some kind of descrepancy or bug.More time between rendering for each card you add can sometimes give you better scaling if there is a bottleneck somewhere holding up the GPU.
On GRID i had 10fps 30fps 80fps on some settings at 2560x1600 going from 1-3 cards 3870.
Will people really spend a grand on gfx cards alone to get decent fps in a single game?![]()
Would you buy a Ferrari if you could afford one? Most people buy the best they can afford, but Ferrari's are too much for my budget.Will people really spend a grand on gfx cards alone to get decent fps in a single game?![]()

1 card = 33fps (100%).
2 cards = 63fps (191%)
3 cards = 104fpd (317%)

.and I still maintain that something is wrong (whether it be game, driver, or hardware design). Infact, I have checked many crossfire and SLI reviews within the past 30 mins, and cannot find a single one that shows such a trend. I guess we can agree to disagree.And i gave you an example of exactly that in a past game where adding a second card started to overcome a bottleneck in my example that does not mean that it will always be the case and that it may take 3 cards to start to overcome it.
Its very likely just the fact that its a multiplayer run that skewed it.
System was quiet using a single card and fairly quiet using two cards but very loud with three cards.
being used to water-cooled graphics cards, I was shocked at how quiet the stock cooler is. I really like the way that the idle cards turn off when on desktop too.
That, is smart.
not sure if serious...
you read the part of the title that said "HIGH RESOLUTION BENCHMARKS" in big bold capital letters, right?

@rjkoneill
absolutely serious, no-one would buy a single 7970 to play at 1600p on ultra with a with an average fps of 33, and even at 1080p it's only 43
What if i wanted a card that would average over 60 fps at 1680? (Which i do) That's not an unreasonable request is it?
