Serious question Tom, why do you get so defensive over criticism of Fergie? Let's be honest, you hardly held back with your abuse of Benitez or Dalglish over the years but when somebody says something remotely offensive about Fergie you get incredibly defensive. It wasn't that long ago that you wanted it to be against the rules to call him Taggart.

Some will laugh, some have, others might just facepalm and move along. Or.... you could challenge it and say well Fergie doesn't say these things. Though of course whilst I humourised it, well I thought I was, they are (mostly) factual things that have come from Fergie and are pretty ridiculous to boot.
 
I wouldn't say I ever react anything like you do when somebody has criticised or abused Benitez, Hodgson (:p), Dalglish or Rodgers.

Of course you wouldn't but then there's never the amount of hostility or pathetic name calling aimed at your manager (christ yesterday we had one Newcastle supporter saying he wanted him dead). Obviously helps your cause when you know you have the mods backing as well

Also I don't think anyone said they wanted Ferguson dead, I think someone posted something about you will now have 52k fans wanting you dead which was daft, though You might be able to manage 5 from the strawberry.

Anyway I'm off to bed, it's been fun, but don't worry I'll be back tomorrow.
 
I'm not playing the victim at all, the last time I was sent packing was after Purdy (a Liverpool supporter) told me to **** off, Baz (a Liverpool supporter) then called me pathetic, I called them both stupid and cya later Andy (the Leeds supporter) sent me packing

I seem to remember the last time, you got upset with a poster for saying Fergie wasn't the greatest of all time so hounded him out in another thread :p

People can (within reason) hate other clubs, players, managers and disagree with each other without throwing around insults. I have more than my fair share of arguments on here and I barely get in any trouble with the dons and only one of those is a Liverpool fan so I think it's safe to say it's not that.

edit: and give me a break about there not being pathetic name calling aimed at Dalglish or Benitez over the years.

This thread takes me back a few years. Fergie had just launched another assault on Benitez saying he would never be so disrespectful and he would never underestimate a team as good as Everton. A few days later he fielded a reserve team against them in the FA Cup semi final and lost the game on penalties :o
