Just got this game today and while it seems fun, I must be the worst SKATE player ever as I'm struggling to do even the simplest things such as grind two rails in a row. I keep wanting to press y to gind and hold and release a to jump

Don't worry, it takes a long time for the controls and everything to really click. I wouldn't say I've felt very good at the game until quite recently.

Originally I wanted to footplant/judoplant/footplant the entire stair set but you lose too much speed.

Then I accidentally did a footplant->grind which led to me seeing if you could plant off the rail :>

Took longer to get the camera in the right place tbh
