Skate!

yeah i know, this is fantastic for what is a first entry. I'll be getting proving grounds as well and i cant wait to see what they'll do with skate 2 :)

Yeah man I was thinking the same. Didn't post it though as numero uno isn't out yet, but if this is what they can pull off in SKATE, I am definately looking forward to SKATE 2 :D

i've got to say the racing is looking surprisingly good, i didn't even realise it was in the game until oen of the later videos. We have to get some online races going come release

Love the demo :-) Not totally got the controls sorted just yet but I've only played it once :p

Camera is a touch weird to get used to as well - I can see why it needs to be there but I could do with being a wee bit higher imo :)

Excellent demo and can't wait to try the full game and manage to nail the line I've been toying with :)

Best trick thus far scored just shy of 500 :D 180 Nollie -> FS Nose Bluntslide was dead chuffed until I realised it was a fluke :(

Ah well since Bioshock hasn't arrived I'm going back to the demo \0/

I can't seem to consitently get varial kick/heelflips down. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It is great when you managed to do one into a grind though.

I got a line of about 1100 last night which was complete luck, I flip tricked and grinded up the rail where you start the grinding tutorial. Did another flip trick off it at the top and managed to land in a grind on about ledge thing which I then flip tricked off. It was awesome :)

The one problem i think with this game is the tiny margins between tricks. E.g 90% of the time im always pulling off bludy pop-shuvits when im trying to varial flip. Tbh i actually find the nollie tricks slightly easier to do

Anyone managed to land a nose-pick yet? I'm struggling a bit getting stalls on rails etc. but I'm loving the game. It's so much more naturalistic the THPS, just cruising the park and hitting flips to manuals in the flatland is enjoyable and landing big gap ollies is very satisfying. I just hope gaps will be included in the full game as atm doing a clean ollie down a stairset/over a rail isn't rewarded.

Definitely a must-buy for me!

now this is just for the skaters on here but.....has anyone else noticed that the skaters push mongo style?

Depends which button you press to push, and what stance you are in. X and A both push, one pushes regular and one pushes mongo.

I find it a bit odd that X pushes regular and A pushes mongo - unless that's because the skater in the demo is goofy. You do seem to get a bit more speed with regular over mongo pushes which is a nice touch :)

Heh, we used to quietly laugh to ourselves whenever we saw someone pushing mongo :D

Anyways I just love this game, I can't stop playing the demo! I would have to say based on the demo alone this is my favourite Xbox 360 game so far.

Shame I can't upload any of the tricks/bails I've done yet though.

i managed to upload a vid, nothing amazing was just trying it out and it said it all worked fine. so whats the site to view them?

Same I edited a simple line that was quite some (flip into and out of a grind) but have no idea where it is uploaded to, I went through the process of linking my gamertag and EA id or whatever but still dont have a clue!

Loving the game can't stop playing the demo I am now just working on getting the flips down still finding it hard to get 360 flip, have people noticed that the more complex the flip (360 flip, inward heelflip etc) the less pop you get just like in real life and unlike tony hawks! Also working on noseslides and tailslides as they seem to be the harder grinds to get right along with blunts and noseblunts which I have only managed to do a couple of times and that was by fluke!
