Skoda

Got mine a couple of weeks ago. Cracking DSG barge.

Lovely looking car mate

I reckon this will be my next car in July (if can get a decent lease)

My fiesta st3 goes back on July, going back to a sensible car :)

This 3 month wait is killing me. Sold my Astra early to get best value but means I'm using the wife's 1.0 3 cylinder Viva in the meantime.

It's not even been a week of waiting yet... :-)

Looking at Octavia hatches with the 1.6 Diesel engine :)

They are very well priced

Unless you do eleventy billion miles a year look seriously at the 1.4 TSI instead. Same torque, more horses, very similar real world economy (40 round town, 50+ on a motorway run). In fact if you do a lot of town work - unlikely given you're looking at the 1.6 CR - the 1.2 TSI is ample.

My build date is week 7 which is mid Feb hopefully delivery mid-end march..... Getting a bit excited now. :-)

Almost snap. Got a call this morning with a build date week 6 on a VRS. Looking at early March all going well. ;)

Me three. I'm still on for build week 9 so just a little later. I switched from quartz grey to petrol blue after seeing a 'real world' video of the colour on YouTube. I'd initially wanted the blue but the varying colours on the configurator, photos, plaques etc put me off. After seeing it I decided I just had to have it after all lol.

I liked the quartz grey too but the Wife convinced me to go with race blue.

I can see Febuary being a slow month....

Tbh the 12 week wait is a bit of a joke for whats supposed to be the 'more budget' brand of a mass car manufacturer. If you wanted something from one of Skodas European, Japanese or Korean rivals you could be sitting in a new car within a week.

A mate of mine decided he wanted a new car, chose a Cactus, ordered it and then picked it up from the dealer in less time than it took for my Octavia to ship from the factory to the dealer!

Also went for the blue, liked the green but for me that was nicer to look at than live with.

Been impressed with the regular updates, although the wait is a pain, I wanted a 16 plate anyway and hopefully the weather will be a bit nicer with the longer days.

The dealer I bought from messed up on the test drive, he wrongly fuelled the car with petrol! I was actually impressed it made it 3 miles before it died in a lay-by, expensive mistake to make I imagine

What he said. The newer 1.4 TSI engine in the Octavia is a great engine (we have it in the wife's Octavia).

Ouch.....

Did you go Race Blue ? I went Race Blue with Red stitching and Anthracite Gemini 18" wheels.

Standard VAG group build time, unless you get lucky and there's already a car with your custom spec. Was the same when I ordered mine in 2005.

Yep race Blue with the same wheels, silver stitching and the black pack grill / wing mirrors

black pack is well worth it - my mk3 vRS estate is heading into 2.5 years old now but can't fault it still. Wouldn't hesitate to keep it beyond the 3 year lease point.

Saw my first Skoda in the new Grey colour earlier. Wow is all I can say.

I've always been fond of the blue but I think Grey will be the winner when the time comes for me to order mine.
