Skoda

Does anyone know where I can get more info on the EA111 and EA211 differences particularly with the 1.2 TSI?

I've searched on Briskoda and Wikipedia is just confusing, I'm interested to know what year the latest revisionof the 1.2 TSI took place, whats chain and whats belt driven, whats 8V and whats 16V, basically I want to know what is the newest and besterest 1.2 TSI available? Although I have a feeling I have this totally wrong and EA111 is ancient!?

Thanks

Differs by model - which model are you looking at?

Only the new Octavia definitely has the EA211 AFAIK

Family wagon required. Circa 2012 octy estate vs superb estate? Both 2.0 TD 170 with DSG. Elegance spec on superb and vrs octy. Which one?

Octy vrs special edition anyone

Looks a corker I'd be all over that if I was in a position to buy just now

Really do not like that. Weird colour, carbon fibre wrap on the front bumper that looks half finished, horrid after thought alloys, tacky carbon fibre effect vinyl roof... yuck.

Skoda and limited editions always seem to be a less attractive version of the original! Mk1 they did the silly "WRC" livery that looked nothing like a WRC car. Mk2 they put on nasty alloys and painted it the same colour as most company car drivers ordered and now this is the worst of the lot!

EDIT- Seems to be a dealer special so I can't really blame Skoda. Good to see they are not bucking the trend though :p

Superb IMHO.

Octy vRS MK1 really are worth naff all now. Be lucky to get £2500 for mine from an enthusiast I think.

Dreading putting it up for sale :(

Looking to trade in my Fiesta ST for something more economical (it's been modified). Fabia vRS worth considering?

This one will be a mk1 then. I have a silver Fiesta so don't really want another silver one. Struggling to find one within my budget with the right sort of age and mileage.

One I've liked the look of the most so far is 07 plate, black, fsh, 69991 on the clock. £4995. Good price?

Hello Skoda folk,

I am considering purchasing a mk2 facelift Octavia VRS (petrol, of course) and I have a few questions if you don't mind:

1. I'm after one with nav (Columbus unit?) and the maxidot display - will this facilitate bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP)? I'm not averse to a spot of retrofitting if updated modules or whatever need to be fitted, but I'd like to keep it "OEM" - so no Bluetooth > line in adapters or anything like that.

2. Steering wheel controls - these seem non-existent on the manual models. Is this retrofittable?

3. Heated seats - again seem non-existent. Do many crop up with it as an option? Was it even an option?

4. Xenons - ditto question 3. Retrofittable?

5. Remapping - simple map up to ~240bhp... Worth doing, or is there a weak spot in the engine/drivetrain that makes it not worthwhile?

6. Anything specific to look out for when buying one, other than the usual stuff?

Thanks :)

1 - If it has bluetooth, I believe it does support audio streaming. Dont quote me on this but I think the bluetooth itself is easy to fit but you'd probably want the microphone fitting to do a proper job. Which will require wiring it into the top light housing. It might also need recoding just to tell the unit it now has bluetooth, but you can easily find someone with the software to do that.

2 - Retrofittable, yes. However I believe you need a whole new steering wheel (depending on which one is currently fitted) as I don't think the blanks just pop out like some VW's, then you'll need the wiring.

4 - If you really wanted, yes. However we're talking ridiculous amounts. Along with the entire light unit, you'd also need to fit headlight washers to keep it legal. Which would obviously involve cutting out part of the bumper, fitting them and then plumbing them in.
