Sky Friends and Family deal thread! Now with, er NOW deals!

You most certainly can order broadband but you'll likely need to call. Don't cancel yet otherwise you'll be without internet for anywhere between 4 days and two weeks!
Are you able to use a code if you call up though?
Thought I might have been able to do it all as one with the TV package too.
Didn't realise it could be that long!

@MissChief

i called sky with the 40% offer you gave but they say i cant use it because i am not a new customer.

we established this before you sent the offer that i would be a new customer even though i have sky fibre.
i just wanted to offer for tv, i know i cant apply it to my broadband.

any ideas?

We've had it confirmed in the past internally that standalone talk and broadband customers are entitled to the offer as it's a TV offer only. I'd call again and speak to someone else TBH. If you get no luck let me know.

ok thank you, is there any particular number i should try?

its just funny because i got put through to someone to rejoin, who then told me i am classed as a new customer, who then told me i cant get it lol

@MissChief

ok so called again, and once again told that i am not eligible as i am an existing customer.

if theres anything else you can suggest that would be great.
if not then its cool, maybe you can give the code to someone else

If you don't mind having two separate accounts (and paying two separate bills), then you can potentially open a TV only account in someone else's name using the code he gave you.

Yes, it would work and I've seen it happen plenty of times in cases similar to yours. I think some advisors were doing it in the past so they could get a brand new sale or brand new account in the bag, as this gets credited to their bonus.

Sky ideally want you to have one account for everything (it makes sense administratively, but also makes it easier/harder for the customer to cancel if products are not split between accounts), but if you don't mind having two separate accounts (one for LR and BB, and another one just for the TV) then you can do it. You'll be paying two bills obviously, but after the first TV bill you'll be able to align them for the same day (and you'll see two separate charges on your statement). Just make sure you remember you have two separate accounts in the future, as if you ever want to cancel everything you'll need to tell the advisor that it's two accounts (only one will appear on their screen and they'll need to search for the other account manually).

I normally does not matter if you use the same name, but in case the system sees an active account under your name when you're opening it online, I'd suggest you use your wife's name for the TV account, to be on the safe side.

ok mate, thank you i will call them up tomorrow do this.

everytime i go online i get a message for technical difficulties or unfortunately we can not proceed, please call etc

OK, in that case phone up as normal and you explain to the advisor you want to have two different accounts, as you want to use the F&F code.

You can even say that a relative of yours with a F&F code is moving in with you and they'll be paying the TV bill, but since it is your property you want your name on both accounts. If they cannot use the F&F code on your already existing account, then make sure you tell them to open a brand new TV-account.

Should be easy, provided you get through to someone reasonable.
